It was looking like the heavens were about to open but all of a sudden, the cloud cover broke and the sun came through illuminating only the Moritzburg palace, originally a hunting lodge, in Saxony Germany.
This "hunting lodge" is located in the National Park "Hoge Veluwe" The Netherlands.

A nice salmon river in beautiful surroundings with some old, man-made elements implemented.
Until the 80s, this hunting lodge was reserved for Erich Honecker (former head of state of the German Democratic Republic) and his closest team.
Today today it's a Van der Falk resort in the seclusion of nature.

Doune Castle is a medieval stronghold near the village of Doune, in the Stirling district of central Scotland. The castle is sited on a wooded bend where the Ardoch Burn flows into the River Teith. It lies 8 miles (13 kilometres) northwest of Stirling, where the Teith flows into the River Forth. Upstream, 8 miles (13 kilometres) further northwest, the town of Callander lies at the edge of the Trossachs, on the fringe of the Scottish Highlands.
Recent research has shown that Doune Castle was originally built in the thirteenth century, then probably damaged in the Scottish Wars of Independence, before being rebuilt in its present form in the late 14th century by Robert Stewart, Duke of Albany (c. 1340–1420), the son of King Robert II of Scots, and Regent of Scotland from 1388 until his death. Duke Robert's stronghold has survived relatively unchanged and complete, and the whole castle was traditionally thought of as the result of a single period of construction at this time. The castle passed to the crown in 1425, when Albany's son was executed, and was used as a royal hunting lodge and dower house. In the later 16th century, Doune became the property of the Earls of Moray. The castle saw military action during the Wars of the Three Kingdoms and Glencairn's rising in the mid-17th century, and during the Jacobite risings of the late 17th century and 18th century. By 1800 the castle was ruined, but restoration works were carried out in the 1880s, prior to its passing into state care in the 20th century. It is now maintained by Historic Environment Scotland.
Due to the status of its builder, Doune reflected current ideas of what a royal castle building should be. It was planned as a courtyard with ranges of buildings on each side, although only the northern and north-western buildings were completed. These comprise a large tower house over the entrance, containing the rooms of the Lord and his family, and a separate tower containing the kitchen and guest rooms. The two are linked by the great hall. The stonework is almost all from the late 14th century, with only minor repairs carried out in the 1580s. The restoration of the 1880s replaced the timber roofs and internal floors, as well as interior fittings.
This is Favorite and those of you who often visit my photostream have seen this building before. In the times when Baden-Wuerttemberg was a kingdom Favorite was used as hunting lodge by the royal family. Nowadays Favorite is a tourist attraction and the forest which surrounds it is a nature reserve in the the middle of the city,

Former hunting residence of the Prince of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt
The small Eberstein hunting lodge was built in 1844 in the Moorish ruin style. It is located in the former wild boar gate ("Saugarten"). Wild boars were intensively cared for and hunted here by the royal family until 1918. The cellar rooms were used to store wild food. In addition to the cellar rooms, there are still remains of a horse stable. The gem above the Schwarza has been looked after by the Ebersteinfreunde from Dittersdorf for several decades.

"The former hunting lodge of Prince Eugene of Savoy and Maria Theresia - which belongs to the Schloss Hof site - is a real insider tip. With its charm of a French summer palace, it exudes a very special appeal. The authentically furnished baroque game kitchen is particularly worth seeing."

taken with my mobile phone as I didn't have my camera the amazing views across Rotherham from Boston castle.
After a hard day at work, I was out and about and I wanted to enjoy the fresh air and the beginning of autumn. I also hoped for one or the other photo. Just switch off and enjoy. There was a classical concert in the nearby castle and suddenly I saw a neighbor in the distance. She waved to me with something in her hand. She is friendly and nice, but also very curious, which for me was a kind of Code Red :-)! She said she had a ticket left and whether I wanted to go with her. Usually am friendly and explain why I something don't want . To this day it is an enigma to me how I managed to say, briefly and directly - no, thank you. I quickly took the photo, put on my headphones and beamed myself up with Metallica :-) because that was, what matters for me that day.
Thank you for taking your time and looking at it, I really appreciate it.

The Hummelshain hunting lodge, this time the back.
This beautiful early 20th century building was exclusively designed by architect H.P. Berlage for the immensely wealthy couple Anton and Helene Kröller-Müller.
Nowadays it's a site you must visit when you visit the National Park De Hoge Veluwe. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and a temperature around freezing point last weekend the Park was not that crowded. And since blue hour is quite early these days I was able to take this image and exit the park before closing time. The latter took us half an hour of cycling in almost darkness through the forest. Bu we made it!
Since this building wasn't lit by artificial lights it was a challenge to make the final result pop. But some dodging and burning and fiddling with the tones did the job.

“Chatelherault” was built as a Hunting Lodge and Summer House for the Dukes of Hamilton. It’s located in the village of Ferniegair just outside the town of Hamilton in south Lanarkshire. The name is derived from the French town of Châtellerault, the title Duc de Châtellerault having been granted to James Hamilton, 2nd Earl of Arran in 1548 for his part in arranging the marriage of Mary, Queen of Scots, to Francis, Dauphin of France
The lodge was designed by William Adam and completed in 1734. It comprises two buildings, linked by a gateway, in the form of four pavilions above a garden wall. The north facade was visible from the palace and forms the front of the building.
Castel del Monte is a 13th-century citadel and castle situated in Andria in the PUGLIA region of southeast Italy. It stands on a promontory, where it was constructed during the 1240s by the Emperor Frederick II, who had inherited the lands from his mother Constance of Sicily
It was never finished and there is no proof that the emperor used it as a hunting lodge as commonly stated.
The octagonal plan is unusual in castle design. Historians have debated the purpose of the building and it has been suggested that it was intended as a hunting lodge. Another theory is that the octagon is an intermediate symbol between a square (representing the earth) and a circle (representing the sky)(Wikipedia : thanks)
Just that I love , love very much Puglia , it is a fabulous, beautiful region
