This must have been a young coyote as his hunting technique was humorous to watch and didn't produce any results. Yellowstone National Park.
This snipe is hunting for food by poking his beak into the mud. It just finished poking on the right side of that clump of stuff right under its beak and now it is taking a step to poke on the other side. The snipes need those rather long beaks because they are often poking deep up to their face.

Die sonst eher ruhige Ostsee wurde von dem Wind an diesem Morgen ordentlich aufgepeitscht.. dazu ging die Sonne gerade auf, die Wolken am Horizont verschwanden.. und die Möwen begannen zu jagen..
Die Ausbeute von dem Morgen ist echt super und ich denke gerne an diese Momente zurück.
Der einzige Nachteil: ich habe zu viele Bilder gemacht ;)

I sat for awhile watching the wildlife come and go in Bradley woods. There were a number of rats roaming around however this beautiful buzzard eyes werer focused upon them.

Auf den Vesteralen kann was erleben. Auf dem Campingplatz von Bleik ist auch immer wieder ein Seeadler zu beobachten. Er wird allerdings von den dort lebenden und brütenden Möwen immer wieder bei seiner Rast gestört, angegriffen und letztlich dann auch vertrieben.

A family of Cedar Waxwings hung close by the shore of the Fanny Hooe Creek which meets with the waters of Lake Superior in Copper Harbor. The waxwings appeared to dance above the water, swooping and swaying, while hunting tiny insect morsels for dinner.
A short-eared owl hunts for dinner in Shawangunk Grasslands National Wildlife Refuge (Wallkill, NY). Short-eared owls are currently endangerd in New York state.
The 25th of January is "Burns Night" which celebrates the life and poetry of the poet Robert Burns. Traditionally haggis is eaten served with tatties (mashed potatoes) and mashed swede (neeps) Little is know about the haggis only that its a nocturnal creature and only found in the wilds of Scotland.
This panoramic view was captured during an observing run of the 4-meter Victor M. Blanco Telescope (left) located at Cerro Tololo Observatory in the Chilean Andes. This telescope (funded by NSF 's NOIRLab) has helped astronomers to prove the acceleration of the cosmic expansion in 1998 by looking at distant supernovae!
💡Now, the Blanco telescope is studying the population of thousand of galaxies in the Universe and especially how dark energy is influencing them. For that mission, it is equipped with an astonishingly resolved CCD camera of 570 megapixels! A single 90 seconds photograph, that covers a region of the sky as wide as 8 full moons, can reveal up to 150,000 galaxies! This high-end imaging instrument is called #DECam - Dark Energy Camera - and was used during 758 nights between 2013 and 2019 as part of the Dark Energy Survey.
