Day 13
A FUN STORY… The Brugge inhabitants are renowned for their sense of humour, and I always feel it is reflected in names of streets, places, houses, shops, and lots of other things!
We proceed to the very short Blinde Ezelstraat, the little street joining the Fish-market square and beautiful square: THE BURG.
Don’t forget to look up to the lovely arch between City Hall and Old Civil Registry, do you see Solomon? Left of him is the statue of Prosperity, to the right the statue of Peace.
According to legend, Blinde Ezelstraat (Blind Donkey Street) owes its name to an old inn… In a document of 1490 named the inn, The Blind Ezele that given to the Registry, a blind donkey.
The house in the left-hand corner hugging the Canal used to house a malt mill driven by a donkey as well. In order to preserve the poor animal from the depressing thought that the only thing it had to do was turn endless rounds, And according to the custom of the brewers to blindfold the donkeys that had to step on the treadmill of malting, and thus prevent them from becoming dizzy.
I wish you a day full of beauty and thank you for your visit, Magda, (*_*)

#AB_FAV_FESTIVE_🎄
This is a small (12/18cm) oil painting I made with my pallet knives.
Made it for Christmas because that year the 'theme' was music and instruments.
We get asked to photograph Artworks, to light them properly and evenly so that the colours are true, it is not evident.
Just a bit of fun, hope you like it.
And the little elves?
Have a happy day and thank you for viewing, M, (*_*)

Is this the funniest joke on Flickr?! Well, probably not but it made me smile when I thought of it at 3am. But first you need to be old enough to know what a pawnbroker was. Then you need to know that in chess this piece is called a pawn. And finally you need to know that bokeh in photography is the term for that blurred background. God, I wish I hadn't bothered now!
Two minutes shy from the end of 1.5 hour tennis training session this morning I run forward to hit the ball when CRACK. I stop as if shot. My Achilles Tendon has snapped.
They say it's a six month full recovery time and at least eight weeks before I can drive. This is going to be really tough to get through, the sun is out I have at least two full-time jobs, children and a 365 project in play. I will try to carry everything on if I can.
The only thing that really hurts is my sense of humour... it was last seen teetering on Beachy Head. That, and I was due to pick up a new road bicycle after tennis.
and one says
"OOH OOH OOH AH AH AAAH OOH OOOH"
So the other one says
"Well put some more cold in then."
Sorry, its the only clean joke I know.
I was amused by the symbol for "Pi" on a building in Valletta. (It wasn't a shop as far as I could see - the door was closed)
"Trust me, these are the mimes you're looking for......and I should mention that one of them is concealing some kind of secret plans.....er.....shall we say, internally. Not sure which one, so you'll need to check them both..."
Built for TBB's "A Mime is a Terrible Thing to Waste" contest.
