The next category in the best state south of South Carolina Competition is free road maps issued at the welcome center.
Here are pictured the actual maps I received at each welcome center.
You'll note that the Georgia map is mostly obnoxiously green, and has an orange and pink peach on it. (While this, too, might imply some sort of Peach State thing, we've already marked that against Georgia in the Welcome Sign category of the competition). It also has pictures of babies on it - uh oh! Anyone that has to resort to pictures of babies to draw attention is obviously hiding something. Tsk, tsk.
The Florida map is much cleaner, with more diversity in the cover photos, including at least one moderately hot chick (though she's obviously married and has a kid). It also has a cool silhouette photo against a sunset sky. And a parrot - what a riot!!! The cover color is also a much more widely accepted and professional-looking white. It makes no assumptions as to what colors you, the visitor, find appealing. The Florida map is straightforward, with no trickery to try to make you like the state better because of the map.
The obvious winner, here, again, is Florida.
On to the intangibles, and the announcement of the Best State South of South Carolina...
Virginia allows personalization of automotive license plates. Here are some that may not be a good idea.
