I still don't understand why this feature exists.
Personally, I haven't found it useful.

BUSTED! I was "sneaking" a shot of this little girl's older sister and ignored this little cutie completely. Later on when I popped up the image on my screen I found this charmer buried in the background.
BUT, her eyes were fixed on me in a classic BUSTED! So, I cropped her out, made her as large as I could, and tossed the rest to the editing room floor.
