Reportaje fotográfico titulado "Visible, forgotten" (Visibles, olvidados) , en alusión a la gente que vive en una situación de pobreza y exclusión social. Desgraciadamente, estas personas se ven abocadas a la pobreza y a tener que vivir en la calle, sobreviviendo de las limosnas de la gente, o hurgando entre la basura para encontrar restos de comida para alimentarse.
El objetivo de este fotoreportaje es el de mostrar que aunque esta gente está en la calle, visible y al alcance de todo el mundo, la realidad es bien distinta: pasan totalmente desapercibidos, olvidados, y de las pocas miradas que reciben, la gran mayoría son de desprecio, superioridad, y asco.

I had the privilege of getting into Churchill Downs for the Kentucky Derby. I took these on the track, next to the gates for the Derby.

This magnificently graceful bird of prey is unmistakable with its reddish-brown body, angled wings and deeply forked tail. It was saved from national extinction by one of the world's longest running protection programmes, and has now been successfully re-introduced to England and Scotland.

Where to see them:
At one time confined to Wales, a reintroduction scheme has brought them back to many parts of England and Scotland. Central Wales, central England - especially the Chilterns, central Scotland - at Argaty, and along the Galloway Kite Trail are the best areas to find them.
When to see them: All year round.
What they eat:
Mainly carrion and worms, but opportunistic and will occasionally take small mammals.

Scuttling out of Tucson we had a decision to make - go a little backwards and out of the way to repeat a good hike or take a chance on somewhere new. Easy decision, "somewhere new" always wins. On Thanksgiving day 2010, "somewhere new" was Picacho Peak, just off Route 10 between Tucson and Phoenix. The place name is redundant: "picacho" means "big peak" in Spanish. It's only 1,500 feet of "up" but some of that up was kind of exciting, almost as exhilarating as climbing El Cabezon back in New Mexico.

We celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied and multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.

Today we went on another field trip. This time a walking trip to the Public Library and then into the park for a visit to see Sam and Betty.
This is Sam and Betty. Sam and Betty are, as stated below, birds that are in honor of Swanton's gift. While they are not descendants of the originals, the children of swanton love them still.
Here is a bit more information about them: "The Village of Swanton is the town's economic center and home to shops, the library, schools and a beautiful town green that is also home to a pair of "royal" swans, a gift from the Queen of England back in 1961. This bestowal was the brainstorm of a Montreal public relations man with a camp in Swanton, who wanted to do something to celebrate the town's 1963 bicentennial. He arranged for a pair of swans to be sent from a naturalist trust in Norfolk, England with the Queen's blessing, to Swanton, where they spent summers on the green and winters in a resident's yard. While today's swans aren't the original (or even descended from them), Swanton still calls them the Royal Swans."
