The casareccia also had a similar rich tomato sauce, but this time, there was a hint of fennel from the Sicilian pork sausages and a meatier strings of pork sarsa. The twirls or casareccia with the S-shaped cross-section held the sauce nicely.
Just for good measure, we also got a risotto to compare with our favourite minimalist risotto at Tutto Bene. Solarino's had a nice balance richness from the Tallegio cheese and saltiness from the pancetta but it was perhaps a little on the sweet side, and a little busy with the number of ingredients.
Would we be back? Heck yeah! There were also little pots of tiramisu sitting in the display out the front, along with other yummy looking pastries, that I'd be back for, not to mention the simple delicious pastas!

Winston Churchill at New Romney Station.
The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway was constructed during the 1920’s and opened on July 16th 1927. It was the dream of millionaire racing drivers Captain J.E.P. Howey and Count Louis Zborowski. The 15 in/381 mm gauge light railway is 13 ½ miles (22 km) long, running from Cinque Port in Hythe via Dymchurch, St Mary’s Bay, New Romney and Romney Sands to Dungeness.
An architectural gem in the Lake County community of Howey-in-the-Hills attests to Ernest Hemingway’s oft-quoted remark “The rich are different.” To wander through the 20 room mansion built in 1925 by the community’s founder, William J. Howey, and stroll over the 15 acres surrounding, brings a nostalgic feeling of how “Once upon a time--.”
William J. Howey purchased 60,000 acres in Lake County in 1916, founding the town that was to bear his name four years later. Following his previous formula for success practice in Polk County, he planted citrus on the majority of his newly acquired acreage.
Check out my other miniature railway pics on Flickr:

An A4 card poster from 1978. The miniature railway never actually ran that close to the manor - temporary track was laid on the lawn for photography purposes. The Royal Scot loco was previously owned by Captain Howey of RHDR fame. It's now on the Royal Victoria Railway Nr Southampton.
Oakhill Manor in Somerset was a small country estate that first opened to the public in the 1970s. The manor house contained an extensive collection of models assembled over the years by owner Walter Harper.
In 1978 a 10 1/4" gauge miniature railway was opened to provide a transport link between the car park and the manor house itself. The track was 1100 yards long and also featured a halfway station/passing loop as well as a short branch line leading up to the stables.
Plans to install balloon loops at either end never came to fruition, despite all the earthworks being completed at one end. The route itself incorporated major civil engineering including deep rock cuttings blasted out by dynamite, a couple of tunnels and a spiral where the track crossed over itself via a large bridge.
The manor and railway both closed to the public in 1986 due to falling visitor numbers. The track and some of the rolling stock was left in-situ whilst the steam locos (some in dismantled condition) were moved to nearby barns where they sat for several years before being sold. The track is presumably still there today, albeit now heavily overgrown.

Unused postcard numbered 10311-1693 published by E. W. Stephenson, printer & stationer, 53 Thoro'fare, Woodbridge, endorsed:
(PRINTED PAPER RATE.)
IF THERE BE ANY WRITING BEYOND SENDERS NAME & ADDRESS AND A GREETING OF FIVE WORDS A PENNY STAMP MUST BE USED, OTHERWISE HALF-PENNY STAMP IS SUFFICIENT
That postal information was valid between June 1918 and June 1921 (AnswerBank: andrewstables, 22 March 2017) and potentially up to May 1940 from May 1922, when the lowest rate for printed matter was again just half a penny (Great Britain Philatelic Society). The photograph may have been taken before 1918 but the cycling signage at 25 Thoroughfare suggests a date between 1916 and 1922, as expounded below.
Ernest William Stephenson (1877-1949) opened his new stationery shop in the Thoroughfare in 1910 or late 1909 (Lambert's Family Almanack for 1911, page 29 - Findmypast image 16). It can be seen in his postcard number 10302 and in an earlier view (perhaps c.1911) published by Robert Blake and Lance Cooper (Woodbridge and its Environs, 1992, page 80) which probably includes the shopkeeper himself, standing on his doorstep.
The dark sign on the left (at 36 Thoroughfare) belonged to the merchants Henry Edwards & Son.
The Bon Marché (32-34 Thoroughfare) was bought by William Savage of Orford c.1910 when Samuel Thomas Pulham retired (Lambert's Family Almanack for 1911, page 31 - Findmypast image 17). The central word MILLINER on the front of the shop is flanked by WM. SAVAGE above twin doorways with LADIES' & CHILDREN'S OUTFITTER undulating on at least one side. The same lettering is more legible in an advertisement from A. Lewis Barnes's 1921 Woodbridge guide, in which three large exterior lamps resemble those seen in photographs thought to date from c.1910 and c.1915 in books by Robert Blake & Lance Cooper (Woodbridge and Its Environs, 1992, page 75, and The Second Woodbridge and Its Environs, 2007, page 41) and Jo Hammond (Woodbridge and Melton: Views from the Past, 1991, page 64). Their captions reveal that the premises were still occupied by the Savage family in the 1990s (then dealing mainly in furniture rather than drapery). Ms Hammond's details of nearby properties have facilitated the following notes.
30 Thoroughfare: Tobacconist Kate or Catherine Threadkell (1869-1959); British Red Cross charity shop by 1991.
28 Thoroughfare: Hardware dealer Harry Charles Pulham (1867-1937) and his family until the 1970s; Cardfayre by 1991.
26 Thoroughfare: Photographer Henry Welton (1858-1946), whose shop is pictured across the street from the yard of the Royal Oak on page 73 of Woodbridge and Its Environs by Robert Blake & Lance Cooper (1992).
24 Thoroughfare: Freeman Hardy & Willis Ltd (still selling footwear there in the 1990s).
On the northern side of the street, the car (registration number BJ 1775; possibly a Ford Model N?) is parked outside hairdresser Charles William Peachey's barber shop at 27 Thoroughfare (later the Co-op).
The small cart or trailer behind the car is probably attached to a bicycle in front of 25 Thoroughfare, where Francis Philip Richardson (c.1851-1925) was a cycle dealer and tobacconist for many years before Alexander John Toshach (1868-1942) took over in 1916 (Kelly's Directory of Suffolk, 1916, page 441; and Lambert's Family Almanack for 1917, page 23 - Findmypast image 15). An advertisement on page 3 of that almanac (Findmypast image 5) mentions a variety of goods:
A. J. TOSHACH,
(Successor to F. P. RICHARDSON)
THOROUGHFARE, WOODBRIDGE.
TOBACCONIST,
Dealer in British and Foreign Cigars, Pipes, Walking Sticks, etc.
---------------------------------------------
CYCLE, LEATHER, AND GRINDERY STORES
CYCLES FOR SALE OR HIRE. MOTOR ACCESSORIES.
The signs on the wall above the awning of 25 Thoroughfare advertise the "Cycle Depôt" as well as Dunlop (tyres or clothing?) and Abdulla (cigarettes). They are conspicuously absent in pre-1917 photographs displaying only two narrow name-boards projecting from F. P. Richardson's shop. By 1922 A. J. Toshach's cycle business was based at 23 Thoroughfare (formerly occupied by stationer & printer Morton Loder) and number 25 was reserved for smokers (Kelly's Directory of Suffolk, May 1922, page 441).
Alexander John Toshach married Amelia Hannah Sair (1869-1938) at St John's church, Woodbridge, in 1895 (East Anglian Daily Times, 28 November, page 8). In the 1901 census he was recorded as an automobile driver in a cottage at Melton Grange, the residence of Major John Edwards Werge Howey (1843-1924), who was still listed as a J.P. for Suffolk in 1912 (Cox's County Who's Who Series, page 66) despite living in Wiltshire. The Grange had a new owner in 1905, George Hector Grant (1858-1943), who continued to make the grounds of The Grange available for the annual Woodbridge Horticultural Show (Evening Star, 8 June 1905, front page; and Lambert's Family Almanack for 1906 - Findmypast images 12 & 13). The Toshach family had probably moved on by then. The 1911 census reveals that Amelia and three children were staying with her mother in Castle Street, Woodbridge, while Alexander was sending them money earned as chauffeur to an unnamed gentleman in France.
Taken later in the day, after watching Hercules approach the Dungeness Road Level Crossing, this time its the Green Goddess.
GN outline two-cylinder 4-6-2 Pacific locomotive
Designed by Henry Greenly
Built by Davey Paxman & Co., (15469) in 1925
Overall length: 27' 7"
Weight in working order: 8 ton 10cwt
Driving wheel diameter: 2' 1.5"
Bogie and trailing wheel diameter: 1'
Cylinders: 5.25" x 8.5"
Current Livery: LNER Apple Green
One of two locomotives ordered in 1924 by Count Louis Zborowski, Captain Howey's original partner, and designed by Henry Greenly.
Greenly based them on Nigel Gresley's famous A1 class locomotives of the London & North Eastern Railway, of which the Flying Scotsman is a surviving example. Green Goddess and tender cost £1,250 to build. The name of the locomotive was apparently taken from one of Howey's favourite plays.
She was ready long before the railway, so Howey arranged for her to be tested on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway in Cumbria during 1925. Following this, and while the line was under construction, Howey tried to whet the appetite of the local people by displaying the loco at Binns Garage in New Romney.
She has always been seen sporting a livery of green, and since the war has sported two new high capacity tenders. The second of these now belongs to Northern Chief, the first has been re-united with Green Goddess.
Green Goddess caries a Wilcox chime whistle and George Barlow was her driver for over thirty years from 1947.
She currently runs in an Apple Green livery similar to that of the former Great Northern Railway. Having been built in 1925, the year 2000 saw this fine engine celebrate its 75th birthday.
Now, a new DVD — RH&DR 2006 — which features footage from an exciting year in the history of the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway: the return of the Bug from overhaul, 2006 gala, installation of barriers at crossings and more.
Green Goddess is now back in service following a major overhaul, returning to traffic on Saturday June 13th 2009.
On display during the 2013 Festivals of Speed Mission Inn event at the Mission Inn Country Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.

KMR 3007 "Firefly" infront of the locomotive shed, Kerr's Minature Railway, West Links Park, Abroath. Sunday 21 August 2011.
This pleasant and friendly railway was established in 1935 and is about a quarter of a mile in length. It is adjacent to the North Sea coast and the Aberdeen to Dundee main inter-city railway line. The KMR is owned and operated by John Kerr (15) and his mother Jill.
On our visit to the railway John invited us on a tour round the locomotive shed and carriage shed.
He is extremely dedicated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable not only about his own railway but on other railways throughout the UK and it really pleasing and satisfying to see someone so young havimg such an interest.
"Firefly" is an 0-6-0, coal-fired, live steam loco of free lance design. Built by H.C.S. Bullock of Farnborough in 1936 for his own short line at Eversley, it actually began life as a G.W.R. outline pannier tank but was converted to its present form in 1946 whilst in the ownership of Captain Howey of the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway.
'Firefly' is perhaps best known for the many years it ran on the Hastings miniature railway. It was by far the most regular runner of the three locomotives there. Purchased by Matthew Kerr Jnr. in December 1984, its chassis was treated to a thoroughly professional overhaul over 1985/86 and re-boilered in 1998.
Quite a regular runner on the Arbroath line, it must be considered one of the most pleasing locomotives to drive in the 10¼" gauge, Matthew himself labelled it, the 'dream machine'.

The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway was built in 1927-28 by model railway engineer Henry Greenly. Originally conceived by the Polish racing driver Louis Zborowski, it was funded by Anglo-Australian landowner J E P Howey, who owned the railway until his death in the 1960s. The line was designed by Greenly to be to 15" gauge but roughly 1:3 scale, and is over 13 miles long.
The railway was designed and built on something of a low budget, at least as far as its civil engineering was concerned; although Howey loved steam locomotives, he always had a reputation for being reluctant to spend on things he thought could be saved on. Out of the whole line, Hythe station probably retains the most atmosphere of the Greenly-designed 1920s concrete-and-I-beam architecture that resulted.

Doing something different with another runway show... right click on image and see it bigger.
I have to say, this was the most unevenly lit event of this kind I've ever seen. As you can see, the lighting was like a small spotlight aimed right at the faces of the models. And certain parts of the runway were almost completely unlit.
These were taken at the Lisa Barron 2010/2010 Spring/Summer 10 Collection, presented in Melbourne’s unique Howey Place laneway at the rear of Collins234 – Boutique Place. This is her signature collection in celebration of the 150th anniversary of Victorian racing, complimented with a selection of Kim Fletcher Millinery. The parade will showcase exquisite day and evening wear pieces created with fabrics sourced from all over the world. - From www.msfw.com.au

The Yorkshire Engine Company of Sheffield
finished the job of building this loco by finally assembling the parts, accrued during a
chequered history for two new engines for the
RH&DR. Originally ordered from, and started by,
Davey Paxman then continued at New Romney
using boilers from Krauss in Munich.
Designed from drawings originated by Greenly,
completed by A.L.S Richardson and based on
Canadian Pacific practice!
The Canadian style was chosen by Howey as it
was felt that the larger cab would give the driver
better protection against some of Kent's fine
summer weather, than the British styled
locomotives. He was also a fan of and visitor to
the Canadian Pacific Railway. When the engine
emerged onto the RH&DR in 1931 she came
complete with a very 'American' Vanderbilt tender
and was named Doctor Syn, after the Dymchurch
smuggling-vicar created by Russell Thorndyke.
In 1948, having been renamed Winston Churchill after the war-time Prime Minister, she was sent to
an exhibition in Toronto, Canada. At this time she
was painted bright red, but in 1962 she received a
black coat of paint and a new tender. The original, although stylish was prone to leaking.
As an experiment Winston Churchill was converted
to an oil firing loco in 1973, but was rebuilt
conventionally in 1979. The experiments were successful, but a rise in the price of oil meant
that no savings would be made over coal.
She carries one of a pair of Crosby chime whistles
that Howey had bought in Canada, and had
impressed Nigel Gresley on a visit to the RH&DR.
Howey then presented Gresley with the second
whistle which in turn was fitted to the new LNER
express Cock o' the North.
She has just undergone (2013) an in-house Major
Overhaul, complete with new power cylinders and
a brand new tender. Her current colour is bright
red, similar to how she looked during the 1970's.
