I couldn't find a DC motor with the correct length drive shaft so I took apart this Mabuchi motor and soldered a straitened length of house wire onto it. The hard part was getting the motor brush end back on the motor case. After a bit of experimenting I realized that there are two holes in the plastic end though which you can insert two retainers for the brushes until the end is fitted to the body.
I needed a longer shaft on this motor for a model train, so I soldered on a piece of household wire, then filed it smooth.

Model 00 gauge scratch-build laser cut kits - checking my wiring for internal lights - before gluing on roofs ? I'm tacking hem on real loose ( like violin tops ) - do they can be 'opened' ... i thought rosettes were fiddly ...very small scale - 4mm to the foot.
