Im not going to lie... 7282 is hands down my favorite loco - she is an absolute rocket-ship!

Sure... the EF class electrics are nothing short of superb, and yes, I have many fond memories yahooing milk trains through the Taranaki badlands with our GE C30-7 varients on the point... but nothing hits quite like sending 7282 full cry through the suburbs at max line speed while doing my best to keep scheduled time!

I have had the pleasure of driving 7282 all week this week hauling the Palmerston North to Wellington regional passenger train, the "Capital Connection", and she has performed flawlessly.

7282 is also the same loco that I spent 99% of my time driving while training for my passenger certification, and is the same loco that I completed my passenger ticket "sign off" runs in, so there is also a certain level of sentiment there too..

We have several DFB class locos in our region, but IMHO - 7282 is unquestionably the best of the fleet!

I wont bore you all with the details of how good she rides, how responsive her throttle is or how well her brake gear reacts - you will just have to trust me on that...

....not sure on make of this car

Spotted on Route 60 (Warwick Blvd) in Newport News, Virginia.

A first test shot with the new Canon EOS R. I think I found a good "model" for the first photos...

From the series 19 hotrods

Inspired by Larry's hot rod.

You're probably wondering what's with the white walled tires – they were heavily used, dirty and dented old style tires. After ignoring them for a long time, I decided to try give them a new life. The process turned out better results than I anticipated and so far, I've managed to recover three complete sets. Not to mention, they are even.. credible.

On display on Fourth Avenue in Tucson in April 2016.

The Legendary rod front end with flames. A sign of the times when hot rods ruled the road.

Even after the Ford V8 appeared on the scene in 1932 the four cylinder soldiered on for years.

Today's story and sketch "by me" you see Earths foremost Ornithologist

Raymundo Rhamoan, (A persons who knows a lot about birds). Raymundo has searched many years, in 71 countries searching for the once thought

extinct Voodoo Bird. The Voodoo Birds extinct cousin the Dodo was also

a great wood carving species, but was not as good a flyer as his cousin

the Voodoo. The Dodo's demise started once upon a time when a Kentucky cave man walked up and snatched a slow Dodo, took it home to his cave girlfriend Sandy who fried it up, (the recipe is still used today, only using chicken instead of Dodo). In prehistoric times it was known as Sandy's Kentucky

Fried Dodo, but her recipe is a story for another time.

What saved the Voodoo was it's incredible get away speed of just under

eighty miles per hour. Another thing that makes the Voodoo interesting is

the Voodoo Birds mating ritual, it starts with the male finding a nice tree, he builds a comfortable nest in the top, then to attract a female,

he carves a tiki design into the trunk with his beak, chipping away for days, like a woodpecker, many designs take weeks to carve, once a female

finds the Tiki design she likes, she mates with the male, then he flies off

somewhere never to be seen again until the next mating season, normally

every 21 years. Until next time taa ta Rod
