Friends, I'll be away from flickr for awhile. Busy with a new venture!
See you soon.

One of these days I would like to go up in a hot air balloon. Until then, I'll just live vicariously through this image.
Regards vers l'intérieur, juste avant de mettre de l'air dedans et de se laisser guider par le vent.
A look at the inside, before putting air in and letting the wind carry us.

A pretty and foggy morning over Lake Hayes here, eh? There are lots of these… i should really get over there and take more morning walks. I've been over there many times, and I often do see hot air balloons. This was the first time I had my camera with me, so it was a lucky experience. We also happened to have our New Zealand Photo Adventure Workshop people with us, so it was an extra treat for all involved!

Luxor, Egypt
We had never been in a hot air balloon before. Robert flies small fixed wing and gyro planes so we have spent countless hours airborne but this is by far my favorite aircraft. The balloon glides through the air so quietly and peacefully with no perceivable friction and on this windless day, not a molecule of turbulence. I wished this ride could have gone on forever but our 30 minutes was over much too soon.
The other photo I posted like this one was popular so I decided to
share this one too; thanks in part to inspiration of T-bo. Check out the companion photo here: www.flickr.com/photos/hotair2112/109138954/in/photostream/
