It's finally done. Our sim is covered in snow, the bushes are covered in ice and snow is falling heavy and slowly, wrapping our land and our two homes under a thick, white blanket. And since I am finally satisfied.. or close there of, I herby open the sim area for visitors again. If you come and visit, please report all issues to me that you encounter. And be aware that the two homes are private and protected (watch the warning signs) and if you post a pic, mention me so I have an easier way to see what you like (flickr notification sucks), love to see how you set up our home
😘
Merry Christmas season everyone!!!
Ater months of work and rework, weeks of preparing, The first change of season finally happened. Autumn is here, leaves are falling, the soft sunlight breaks through the trees and in the morning and evening Mist covers the ground. A magical time and my absolute favorite time of year. It just makes me feel relaxed and comfortable.
After a week of intense digging and shoveling, our Home finally takes form. There is still lots to do and the detailwork will take ages, but I took the time and sat down to make a picture, from one side of our beloved paradise to the other, the overall sight is stunning. I will take a few days off from building before I jump on the highland meadows and the rest of the forest. And then the detail work begins, fixing bugs and clippings, adding plants and animals and effects. I hope in the end it will be as dreamy as I imagine it. And with he help of my amazing Tatusia, I am sure it will be filled with 1001 wonders
It's this time of year again: leaves turn colorful, morning mist lingers between the trees, crows scream in the distance and the sun just doesn't seem to warm the world up as it use to. Autumn arrived at our little püaradise with all it's colorful glory. I love this time of the year most of all the seasons.. and took some extra care this year to make it as lovely as I could
The house front is finally done. Meaning 1/8 of our place is finished. At night the house is the only source of warm light, everything else is frozen and blue and white. It already looks magical and that will be even further increased by mid december when the christmas decoration comes in (picture unedited directly from SL)
In the effort to redo all of our land and go over some new developments I also started to redo some older parts. One of those is the small river that runs through most of the land. And since I am redoing the upper half and redevelop the forest section, I took some time to give some of my love to the river. So here is how it looks now from the rivers perspective. Maybe silly since most visitors never get close to it, but I know its there so that enough was worth it 😉
The goal was that when Autumn comes, I have our Sim prepared and detailed enough to open the main part to the public. But as often, RL interfere and lot has happened so I wasn't even close to be satisfied enough to do that. And then I had to start to think about Winter already. So I decided to begin early and start working on turning our Sim into a winter wonderland with the help of my lovely neighbor Lynn and Tatusia. So That by mid December I not only can open it finally, I also can work on those small little parts I have neglected so far. And the first part to work on and turn everything over was the front of our house. It took 4 hours to replace the plants and set up the scene. But I love the result. When I am through with the whole area, I will add light effects and snowfall.. a true winter wonderland
Finally after weeks and weeks of work, our home is at least on the surface finished. All the terraforming has been completed, the regions has been defined. Now the real work begins, detailing the land, creating more and more sceneries, finding and correcting the glitches and errors and all that. This is the view of the new beach dunes with the highland meadows in the back. We opened our home again, at least the public part, so people can explore. And if they fnd any issue, hopefully they send me a note with the description of what the problem is. The land is huge and it's hard to find all errors, so help is needed. So if you're bored, come on over and explore. Any comments, critics and suggestions are appreciated 😉
Me and my lively wife Tatusia are sick of winter. So I started to revert our land into Spring, warm colors, flowers everywhere. And also we started to go over those parts we created a year ago and make them better. Starting with the beach and the forest, make it lighter and brighter
Our Home is coming a long way, but sometimes I go back to the first area I've created: the Dreampond. At night the Moon illuminates the scenery and make it glow in a magical light
The first spot that we addressed was our beach. I cut down a lot of the dense forest behind it and widened it, now rolling dunes and palms flank the Zen Garden and the main path while huge waves crashing at the shoreline. Over time we expand it, add more details and more spots. But now you can actually walk all the way from the Mermaid Bay to the Zen Garden, strolling at the tropical beach and find many small spots that invites you to rest and enjoy the sun
The first stop on our tour is in the center of the Land. A small Bay cutting inland, fed by waterfalls that bring fresh springwater from the mountain. It's been said that down at the bottom of the Bay Mermaids made their home. The Bay also gives a great view to the two mansions. To the East, facing the sunrise, is Casa Moonborn on a steep cliff. To the west up on the mountainside resides the Starsider Mansion.
Finally, at the top of the path lies the gate to the Moonborn Mansion Estate. A large Building towering over the Forrest and the beach, surrounded on three sides be steep cliffs. But it also has a little area sealed off, only acessable when you enter the hedges that mark the outer bounds of the Mansion.
This is the home of the Moonborn-Qinan family and a retreat for heir closest friends
Deep in the forest an old Oak tree stands on a small hill. Surrounded by other trees and a stream, it is the heart of the forest. From here all paths diverse to the other parts. To the Bay, the Fae home, up the mountain to the mansion and the hillsides or to the Zen Garden and the Beach
The last shot of the old house, taken over a week ago, before we started building our new one. And the reason I haven't uploaded any new pictures in a while. I've been so busy, spending every free minute building, painting and decorating. And I'll show our new house soon, now that at least the garden is almost finished and the landscaping is done. But I wanted one more memory of the old home. So many nice moments we had in there, gathering friends, chatting and laughing, or just sit quietly in front of the fireplace, sipping wine. But as with most things, it became to small and clustered.
Right in the corner between the beach and the Bay, on top of a little hill, are the ruins of an old outpost. No one knows who built it and what it was or. Maybe it's worth investigating?
High above the Ruins, streams and the beach, begins the dark forest. No palms or exotic flowers grow here, instead moss, pines, mushrooms and ferns. Yet those hillsides aren't empty. If you wander far from the paths you may discover it's inhabitants.. and some other secrets. But you have to be very very quiet
On the far East of our Island, sandwiched between the Beach and the Cliff with the Mansion, rests the Zen Garden. A tranquil place to find your inner center.
In case one of you is wondering why I am not as active here lately: Due to weird circumstances we had to tear down the mountain in the midle of our sim behind the Bay. And I was shocked to see how much land that mountain needed. So for days now I am piece by piece rebuilding that section while my neighbor Lynn is using the opportunity and rebuild her whole side 😁 About half the work is now done. And here is a preview of how it might end up looking. That is taken from my neighbors side and shows our Mansion in the distance in a beautiful sunrise. I keep you updated and since I can't build ALL the time, I will sneak a picture or two every now and then in here.
Once we are all satisfied with how it looks, we open the section again for our friends at first for a home warming tour and later to the public
For the last two years this was our home. Everything evolved around this Mansion, friends droped by, its halls were filled with laughter and joy. But in the spirit of reworking our estates, it will be torn down to make room for a new house finally. Ciao, casa Moonborn, and thank you for your protection and your comfort in all those years
I took some time to finish small part of our beach, more as a motivation for myself and as a base for the quality I wanna achieve on our home.
And as requested:
-The Hutt is a modified version of a Scarlet Creative hutt
-Massage Bench is from Boo's
-Planted Pots are from Heart
-Gas lantern is from DDD
-Scenery, Ground, Background Bamboo plants are all from various sets from Skye Studios
If you like to know some of the things I use, send me a message,. I try to include those items in future presentations
I had to fly pretty high to get a complete picture over our little Paradise. This is looking from south to North. From the bay in the middle all the way to the right is the side I take care of. Over time I will show my friends this Garden. It will be a refuge from all the hectic and stress of our daily life
Half way up the mountain, flanked by a cliff down to the little stream on one side and the open meadows on the hillside stands the ruin of an old tower. Was it once a watchtower, overlooking the ruins down at the bay? And what did the builders watch out for?

The Pavilion is the heart of the Dreampond. It invites a weary soul to rest and just.. take everything in.
The pond grew over time. The bigger my sims got and the more I learned about decorating, the lusher and denser it became. The first version at my first sim was merely a hole in the ground, surrounded by a few bushes and trees and with a crude waterfall. Over time it developed. and when I moved to a bigger sim, it changed its appearance. The second version was surrounded on three sides by huge cliffs (If you look through my pictures, you can see the different version and my progression as a landscaper)

The Pond is separated in two halves. The front half right after the entrances is dominated by a huge waterfall pond. A small path leads from there to the center, passing benches and a japanese bathing tub. The area is overgrown and dense, glow ferns, crystals, trees.. and fireflies dancing above it right below a thick storm cloud. At the end of the path sits a pavilion, illuminated by soft lights and torches. You hear exotic birds, the sounds of big cats and the flapping of butterflies all around you
Once you wander further down the paths you enter the Woods. Thick vegetation blocks out the sun, birds chirping and dozens of animals roam around these parts. Just make sure you stay on the trail or you get lost
It has been a intense few days/weeks. Clearing out the old home to make room for a new building. Many many hours of work were required to make it look good and comfy, at least from the outside (the interior is still mainly empty). This is the view to the house from the edge of the clif it stands on. Surrounded by a lovely fence, it's wild growing garden surrounds most of the house. A small pool area, a little garden, a piazza, fountains, and many spots to enjoy the moment and the amazing views.
Since I know I will get asked this, I make a list of the creators I use:
- Skye Studio (landscaping the cliffs and way up to the house) marketplace.secondlife.com/de-DE/stores/14830
- Botanical (several Trees and other vegetation, pathways, fences and other decorative items) marketplace.secondlife.com/de-DE/stores/13660
- [DDD] ~ Dysfunctionality (most for the veggie garden and it's decorations) marketplace.secondlife.com/de-DE/stores/104880
- HPMD (Bushes) marketplace.secondlife.com/de-DE/stores/20972
- Heart (most decorative plants and smaller bushes, lots of flowers) marketplace.secondlife.com/de-DE/stores/2826
- Scarlet Creative (our lovely House) marketplace.secondlife.com/de-DE/stores/6345
- Bad Katz (several plants and deoc items, scripts and animals) marketplace.secondlife.com/de-DE/stores/46293
as well as several single items from various creators (Nutmeg, Dust Bunny, LOVE, and many others)
So, if I can create this, everyone can. The secret is finding the creators and put the work into it. Some spots took several hours, just trying out different combinations and such. And a big thank you to those creators I had to contact in that time for answering questions and help me modify some of their objects. I really appreciate your help ❤ and to all of them: keep up the good work. I love the effort you put into your work and am very thankful to all of you

Welcome to the heart of our homeland. Only accessible from the grounds of the Mansion, and by passing a tunnel of old trees lays the Dreampond, the last area I created in our new home.
The idea of it came to me over a year ago. Someone I deeply cared for was mourning, and nothing anyone could say would help. So I thought of a place where she could find her inner peace again, relax, escape from the world. That was the birthplace of the Dreampond. But My skills very almost non existing, my knowledge of building and creating minimal at best and my sim was very small. But I created the first version of it and had only three guidelines to do so:
- it needed to be around water. Water for me is soothing and relaxing
- it needed to be it's separate area and own habitat, calming and peaceful with lots of possibilities to relax and enjoy yourself
- and it should pass a certain feeling. a deep Forrest, humidity, animals making sounds, waterfalls.. and for some reason I pictured it all by night
When you look from the Mermaid Bay to the East you have an amazing view over the Moonborn Beach. Stretching from the bay all the way to the Andie's Lighthouse, it is a paradise. Palm trees and flowers in all colors parade along the sandy shores, the waves gently splashing against the shores and paradise birds and other animals serenade you while you relax on the several spots, inviting you to enjoy yourself 💕
So, as our house and the sim begins to take shape (again), I show of some of the aspects. I never got to the point to show the old Mansion, so I focus a bit more on this now. When I tore down the old house, the cliff on which it stood, looked huge and empty. So I started not on the house itself, but adjusted the surrounding so the house would fit into the landscape first. This is mainly due the reason that we will change the seasons according to the RL meteorological calendar. Meaning, until the 21st of September, the official start of Autumn, I need to have the whole sim, including the area around the house, updated to do just that (once again, a huge thanks to the work of Skye Creations for making that task much much easier with all their season changing parts). Long talk short: this is the first draft of the front of our new home. It's not completely polished yet, but it will do for now. I wanted to bring over the feeling of an old, forgotten garden, overgrown and with a melancholic touch. The whole area is on two levels. The "ground level" spans from the path up the cliff to the entrance of the dreampond area and to the front yard of the house. The "upper level" is on higher elevation and starts at the 'rear' end of the front porch to the edge of the cliff. Divided by elevation and a stone wall. But more on that later
From the middle of the Forrest a narrow, steep path climbs up along the side of the cliffs, higher and higher. With the massive rocks on one side and wild, thick vegetation on the other, the path feels almost claustrophobic. But who knows what secrets it leads to, besides giving acess up to the Mansion
i really love how small & simple our bedroom is. we only have enough room for a bed & a chest of drawers, but the light that shines through that window makes me so happy when i wake up.

for now.
Took me so long to get something I Was happy with.
May be "too cluttered" for some, and maybe it is for me too. but I need pretty things, and I need them neat.
although, the day I sorted this sideboard was the day I brought those roses home.
I now truly believe that fresh flowers fix everything.
