Besides the legend of Odysseus, there was this jigsaw puzzle, that did its best to encapsulate the most famous scenes and characters in Arthurian legend.
This is a puzzle I would buy, provided I had the room to lay it all out and put the pieces together. I love reading the Arthurian legends. I have several books that are translations of the tales that were originally written in the 12th, 13th, and either 14th or 15th centuries. Because I've read these stories I was able to easily recognize much of what I saw on the box cover. This would definitely be a fun puzzle to put together.
Here is my beautiful friend and soul sister Sandy who lives on top of a mountain in Wales. She is the most beautiful friend a man can have and she is so gifted.She is a medium oh so rare! She lives not far from where merlin had a castle called Dynas Bran.
This is a general view of the “Exaltation of the Holy Cross” abbey’s southern wall in its entirety. Shot almost into the fierce sun (setting to the left), in late July.
The south choir is wider than the two apses surrounding it. St. Michael the Archangel is carved in bas-relied high up (just beneath the choir’s dome). Below the choir’s roof one sees the series of Saints’ figures carved in bas-relief, too (below the cross-shaped window of the choir: St. George slaying the dragon, St. Helen, the Holy Cross, St. Constantine and St. Dēmētrius).
A secondary or auxiliary side door (directly leading to the nave, thus bypassing the narthex or lite) is viewed to the left of the westernmost vaulted apse of the south wall. The holy grail is carved in bas-relied above that door. There are bells hanging from the domes’ crosses.
One of the sanctuary’s three apses is barely discernible, on the right (sanctuaries are always the easternmost parts of Christian churches).
The Exaltation of the Holy Cross Abbey (aka “Monastery”) is a vaulted three-aisled basilica of a singular architectural style all of its own, measuring 72.8 × 43.3 ft (22.2 × 13.2 m without apses and choirs). The church is defined by its thirteen domes and still stands within a picturesque fir-trees’ forest at an altitude (elevation) of 3,609 ft (1,100 m) with interesting fauna in it (bears, wolves, vipers etc.). It took eight years for the construction to be completed. The abbey was built in c.1770 or 1792. It is located between two villages—Dholianá and Kraniá. Both villages are in the greater area of Aspropótamos (Greek for “White River,” toponym of river Acheloos) in Trikala county, Greece.
Major repairs were reported in 1839–1848 and in 1982–1985. The latter was necessary after the severe damages caused by the Nazi Germans during the occupation in WWII. The Exaltation of the Holy Cross is dependent on St. Stephen’s monastery (Meteora).

The cathedral contains numerous 15th-century paintings, some by local artists (such as Jacomart), others by artists from Rome engaged by the Valencian Pope Alexander VI who, when still a cardinal, made the request to elevate the Valencian See to the rank of metropolitan see, a category granted by Pope Innocent VIII in 1492.

After 3 nights in Edinburgh we left for our next destination: Cameron House in Alexandria at Loch Lomond. We were scheduled to stay there 5 nights. For starters we’d explore Glagow from there and do some hikes in the neighbourghood. But first we had a couple of stops on our way from Edinburgh to Cameron House on our schedule. The first one was just outside Edinburgh: Rosslyn Chapel. The chapel is famous for its intricate stone carvings, rich history, and connection to various legends and mysteries. It dates back to the 15th century and is renowned for its elaborate Gothic architecture. Legends galore here. This particular shot is of where legend has it, that the Holy Grail was hidden for a while in a cave at Hawkstone and where King Arthur and also Merlin had castles hidden from view.

Castle Stalker picturesquely set on a tidal islet on Loch Laich, an inlet off Loch Linnhe. It is about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) north-east of Port Appin, Argyll, Scotland, and is visible from the A828 road about mid-way between Oban and Glen Coe.

The word Montserrat, means "jagged or serrated mountain" in Catalan. The mountain is also called "La muntanya dels cent cims" (The mountain of 100 peaks) and is composed of strikingly pink conglomerate, a form of sedimentary rock, popular with climbers. The summit of Montserrat is called Sant Jeroni (Saint Jerome) and stands at 1,236 meters (4,055 feet) above the valley floor. Montserrat, is the highest point of the Catalan lowlands, and stands central to the most populated part of Catalonia, not so far from Barcelona...
Nestled between the peaks for centuries the famous Benedictine abbey Santa Maria de Montserrat. "Monestir de Montserrat" (Monastery of Montserrat) is the center of the Catalan faith. Charles V and his son King Philip II of Spain died holding blessed candles from Montserrat in their hands. The Monastery contains and protects "La Moreneta", named also the Black Virgin of Montserrat and her sanctuary. The mountains were associated in the Middle Ages with Parsifal's search for the Holy Grail in the legends of King Arthur, which was kept in a mountaintop castle called Montsalvat, even famous German composer Wagner set his opera "Parsifal" there...
According to legend La Moreneta was carved by St. Luke and brought to Montserrat by St. Peter in 50 AD, then hidden from the moors in the Santa Cova (holy cave) just down the mountain from the monastery. By the late 1100s, a new wooden sculpture of the miraculous image was made, and it is this Romanesque statue that pilgrims are familiar with today. In 1522, St. Ignatius of Loyola came in pilgrimage, and made the decision to abandon his former life as a warrior, leaving his sword as an offering to Our Lady of Montserrat and settling for some time in the nearby town of Manresa as he discerned his vacation and wrote his Spiritual Exercises. The old church was replaced with an enormous transitional late Gothic/Renaissance-style basilica in 1592, and this building stood until much of it was destroyed by the armies of a retreating Napoleon in 1811. Fortunately, the monks managed to hide the image of Our Lady of Montserrat so that it was not destroyed along with the rest of the abbey. In 1880, Our Lady of Montserrat was officially declared to be Patroness of Catalonia by Leo XIII. In more recent times, Pope John Paul II came to Montserrat on pilgrimage in 1982, to pray before the image of the Black Madonna...

Various versions of the legend of the Holy Grail see the Grail as a miraculous vessel associated with the knights who search for this Grail and thus ultimately for redemption. The Grail was understood to be the chalice that Jesus Christ used at the Last Supper with his disciples and in which Joseph of Arimathea is said to have collected the blood of Christ under his cross, as was reported early on in apocryphal writings. The Grail is therefore one of the most important of the numerous relics. The photo shows the Gothic chapter house of the Cathedral in València, where the Holy Grail or Holy Chalice (Santo Cáliz in Spanish) has been kept since 1506.
