En la estacion de Oruro, aquel dia se daban cita los expresos Wara Wara y Del Sur, para cumplir su servicio hacia la frontera de Villazon y el importante nucleo turístico de Uyuni.

La locomotora diesel Hitachi 1014 BBB maniobra con un mercancías a los pies del activo Volcán Ollague de 5.870 msnm para posteriormente encaminarse a la frontera con Chile; concretamente a la pequeña localidad de Ollague a recoger un tren de contenedores vacío para tras formar con un coche de pasajeros; salir a primera hora de la tarde con el tren mixto rumbo a la localidad de Uyuni.

La japonesa al frente del tren turístico procedente de El Alto, rumbo a Guaqui (Lago Titicaca), efectúa parada en el lugar arqueológico de Tiwanaku, donde los pasajeros podrán conocer además de los icónicos monolitos, acerca la cultura tiwanakota, de origen preincaico y de influencia en el denominado "Kollasuyo" el cual abarcaba los actuales países de Perú, Bolivia, Chile y Argentina.
En la imagen, con las vetustas agujas y el añejo letrero de Puma Punku "Puerta del Puma" a donde la veterana locomotora espera viajar en una próxima vida.

Centre is Hull Trains 802204 making a rare appearance in Newcastle, on hire to East Coast Trains (First) for crew training, and right is TPE's 802216 awaiting departure to Liverpool Lime Street.
Después de llegar con el tren turístico a través de los bastos parajes del altiplano, la Hitachi 1020 se dispone a efectuar las maniobras de inversión de marcha para situarse a la cabeza de la composición y quedar formada para su regreso a la tarde al núcleo ferroviario de Viacha.
Entre tanto, los turistas se disponen a disfrutar el paseo en barco por el Sagrado Lago Titicaca en el barco multipropósito de la Armada Boliviana en este bucólico lugar próximo al hermano país del Perú.
