These wonderful gritty and rusty wheels are resting against the Blacksmith shop at the Littleton Museum. The blacksmith was actually in there doing demonstrations.
This home was built in 1901. I don't know if it is original, but it has a highly decorated balcony corner including spindlework commonly used on Victorian and Queen Ann style homes.
Monaco is not just glitterballs and expensive perfumes. There are lots of beautiful parks and historic buildings that you can visit for free. I love this place.

Early morning shot of the historic Anchor Bankside pub on the south side of the River Thames.
I thought I would take the opportunity to grab a shot, as despite the early hour the pub lights were on and there was no delivery van parked outside, which is often the case at this time. To get an unobstructed shot in the evening is practically impossible, as both pub and the nearby Bankside/Clink Street areas are very popular indeed these days.

CSX train M575 heads south momentarily cutting the town of La Grange in half as restaurant patrons and a wedding party briefly pause to watch the commotion. This historic piece of former L&N mainline runs right down Main Street between classic brick and stone buildings turned into modern eateries and gift shops.
The famous historic police office in Arrowtown. Possibly the most photographed police office in the world! It just looks great in Autumn.
It was built in 1863 and is the oldest wooden structure in Arrowtown. It was constructed from pit-sawn red beech and had hand-cut shakes on the roof.
It originally was part of a police camp in Cardigan Street and was moved to its present site in 1991. The exact use of the building isn’t known, but it is suspected to have been used for storing gold during the gold rush.
For over 400 years Chatham Dockyard and its people supported the Royal Navy by building, repairing and maintaining its warships.
One of Britain’s most important Royal Dockyards, it was associated with many great historical figures of their time – great seamen like Sir Francis Drake and Lord Nelson as well as literary legends such as Samuel Pepys and Charles Dickens. The dockyard’s role in supporting the fleet linked it to many of the most significant events in history –from the Spanish Armada to the Cold War. Events that shaped the world we live in today.
Today The Historic Dockyard, Chatham is the most complete dockyard of the age of sail in the world.
There are many great restaurants and shops in historic Annapolis, Maryland, along with the Naval Academy!

Excerpt from www.insauga.com/niagara-on-the-lake-memorial-clock-tower-...:
The structure, which was unveiled on June 3, 1922, almost wasn’t built in the first place.
It was originally proposed to honour the town’s residents who fought in World War I but never made it home. The idea was so highly regarded that a Toronto architect, Charles M. Wilmott, was enlisted to design it.
A 27-person committee dedicated to its construction was quickly formed and included the future town mayor, J.M. Mussen. The committee calculated it could be built for $8,000, not much these days but a king’s ransom at the time.
However, not everyone was onboard with the plan. The mayor at the time, Jame Maphee, said the town would be better off spending $10,000 to build a hospital. Other residents wanted to build a new high school or a new sports park.
In the end, on June 28, 1920, they settled on the matter in the most democratic manner possible. They put it to a town-wide vote.
In the end, 316 people voted for the clock tower, 237 voted for a new hospital, 72 voted for a much smaller, more traditional memorial while just four people voted for the sports park and three voted for the high school.
When the clock tower was unveiled in 1922, Niagara-on-the-Lake quickly earned the distinction of being the only town or city in Canada with a war memorial in the middle of its main street.

Description of Historic Place
Located on the main street of Niagara-on-the-Lake, the Niagara District Court House National Historic Site of Canada is a handsome stone building in a classical style. Its classicism is expressed through its symmetry and classical details, such as the central pediment, porch with columns, window surrounds, and stringcourses. The surviving interior spaces reflect the multiple uses for which this building was designed.
Heritage Value
The Niagara District Court House was designated a national historic site of Canada in 1980 because:
-designed by the prominent Toronto architect, William Thomas, in the fashionable Neoclassical style, it is an excellent example of a mid-19th century multipurpose civic structure.
The Niagara District Court House marks a step in the transition to large and more sophisticated civic buildings after 1850. Its greater scale resulted from the inclusion of a wide range of functions. In addition to the courtroom, offices and jail, the Niagara District Court House also included a town hall and market. The structure was designed by William Thomas, an architect of national standing, adept at several classical styles.
Character-Defining Elements
Key elements contributing to the heritage value of this site include:
- its Neoclassical design, as expressed by its mass, symmetry, stone façade, and classical details, such as the corner quoins, pediment, stringcourses, and porch with columns;
- its complex of interior spaces, which support its original multifunctionalism;
- its surviving interior finishes;
- its close relationship with the main street of the town and with its neighbouring buildings.

Montenegro is a country in Eastern Europe bordering Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Albania and the Adriatic Sea. It used to be a part of Yugoslavia. The capital is Podgorica. The name Montenegro is Italian and means Black mountain. Montenegro was an independent princedom between 1878 and 1910 and an independent kingdom until 1918. That year Montenegro became part of Yugoslavia. In 2003 Yugoslavia was transformed into the new country of Serbia and Montenegro, but this fell apart in 2006 when both countries went their separate ways. Montenegro is therefore the youngest country in Europe. Montenegro is not a member of the European Union, but it is a member of NATO. Despite the fact that Montenegro is not yet an EU Member State, people do pay with the euro. Montenegro may be small, but this beautiful nation has a huge array of natural and man-made wonders. Once overlooked in favor of more famous Mediterranean countries, Montenegro is quickly gaining a reputation as a great place to travel. It's easy to see why. The mountainous hinterland is home to deep gorges, flowing rivers, glacial lakes and old-growth forests, popular for adventure activities. Petrovac is located on the coast between Budva and Bar, where the old mountain road from Podgorica reaches the coast. It has a 600 m long sandy beach and it is a popular tourist destination. Petrovac is seen as a somewhat "calmer" resort. The pier and the Kastio Castle, which served as a storehouse for wine and olive oil in the past, and now is a historical monument with historic cannon guns. Also a beautiful terrace that offers you a great view of the sunsets.
Montenegro’s most iconic destination is the tiny islet of Sveti Stefan. Graceful 15th-century stone cottages set on a pink sand beach. Sveti Stefan was an island but is now connected to the mainland. Initially, the island with its fortress had 12 families. In the 1800s, a village was established on the island with a population of about 400 people located at the coastal area around Budva. The coastal area around Budva, called the Budva riviera, is the center of Montenegrin tourism, known for its well-preserved medieval walled city, sandy beaches and diverse nightlife. Budva is 2,500 years old, which makes it one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic coast. Petrovac is located on the coast between Budva and Bar, where the old mountain road, with slopes of the hills surrounding, from Podgorica reaches the coast. Kastio Castle is a very nice sightseeing and photo spot in Petrovac. Not really a fortress, but rather a small fortification that would protect the Venetians when freighting goods in the boats. You can see almost all if Petrovac from here. Not crowded at all. Definitely recommend for the view and atmosphere and you can jump into blue sea from there as well.

90044 90045 4M27 Coatbridge to Daventry zips over the River Lune on a dull and grey January morning. The still conditions allowed, at least, for some fine reflections. Lancaster was a busy port in the 18th Century with St Geogres Quay being constructed in 1750. The impressive Custom House, which I have inadvertently cut the edge off, stands alongside the warehouses, offices and the George and Dragon public house.
