The Himalayas are a rich tapestry of cultures and landscapes, spanning six diverse countries. Chopta - Uttarakhand - India

Wheat fields near the town of Jogindernagar in Mandi District in the state of Himachal Pradesh,India.Taken almost at mid day hence the light is not too good. The layer of green with white heads in the middle is an onion field.

I took this photo from ''Chilianaula'' near Ranikhet . Elevation 1898 m., a hill station in Uttarakhand State, northern India. It’s known for its views of the Himalayas. Hundreds of bells adorn Jhula Devi Temple, dedicated to the Hindu goddess Durga. Fruit trees grow on the terraced orchards of Chaubatia Gardens, with views of peaks including Nanda Devi. Mahatma Gandhi stayed in a hut, Gandhi Kuti, in nearby Tarikhet village during the independence struggle.
