The Himalayas are a rich tapestry of cultures and landscapes, spanning six diverse countries. The 1,500 mile stretch of majestic mountain ranges are home to some of the most inspiring sites in the world, starting in Afghanistan, before descending upon Pakistan, Indian, Nepal and China, before ending in secretive Bhutan.
Wheat fields near the town of Jogindernagar in Mandi District in the state of Himachal Pradesh,India.Taken almost at mid day hence the light is not too good.The layer of green with white heads in the middle is an onion field.
I took this photo from ''Chilianaula'' near Ranikhet . Elevation 1898 m., a hill station in Uttarakhand State, northern India. It’s known for its views of the Himalayas. Hundreds of bells adorn Jhula Devi Temple, dedicated to the Hindu goddess Durga. Fruit trees grow on the terraced orchards of Chaubatia Gardens, with views of peaks including Nanda Devi. Mahatma Gandhi stayed in a hut, Gandhi Kuti, in nearby Tarikhet village during the independence struggle.

A view of the snow-covered Himalayas from Kufri ,some 20 kms from Shimla.It is only during the months of December-January that we get such clear views of the snow-covered ranges from Shimla.
The ascent was steady through virgin highland having numerous wild plants and flowers.....they make the air intoxicating and pause for a longer time affects and generates drowsiness....so enjoy the beauty only with steady walk...
