Despite all I have seen and experienced, I still get the same simple thrill out of glimpsing a tiny patch of snow in a high mountain gully and feel the same urge to climb towards it.

Another sunrise and another yacht. This time the owner/crew came out on to deck to enjoy the sunrise. The waters were unbelievably calm
Suns coming up a lot later now. We are still in summer but the sun hasn't appeared by the time I leave Hillarys Marina on my morning rides now. I loved the clouds in this image.
Hillarys Lighthouse taken at sunrise. this is a busy Marina in the morning but managed to get a photo without the usual flotilla of boats entering the Marina.

Another series from the Aquarium of Western Australia (AQWA). It was hard not to take a relaxing and beautiful shot in the lounge area. I can highly recommend the lounge viewing experience. The key is to go after lunch when all the school trips have left (they only attend in the morning).
I was at Hillarys Marina later than normal on my bike ride. It would have been about mid-morning and the sky was overcast but had a tinge of smoke in it which really tamed the brightness and colours. Everything seemed to have a pastel tone to it. It was quiet and beautiful so I had to snap off a few photos of the water, the foreshore and some yachts :-) It was a magical place to be at that time.
We had a rough morning when Mae had a complication during routine surgery. We couldn't get through to Hillary or her finace but had received a message that Mae might not make it. We knew how devastated Hillary would be so we spent a difficult morning trying to get information. Now I'm going to take a nap but I'll be back when I can.
My family and I took a holiday in Sonoma and drove around quite a bit to explore. We spent some time in Healdsburg which is a lovely town with a lot of nice cafes. We wandered into this one where they had bacon cupcakes. That's where we met Hillary who was working there that day. Loved her style and loved the cupcakes so I asked her if I could take her portrait. She agreed and held up a cupcake for the shot. Thanks Hillary! :)
Here's one for the obtuse security guard who told us we couldn't take photos anywhere around the harbour at Hillary's

Igor and Hillary have invited all to attend. Just check out the map for directions. The house is at the intersection of Fayetteville Rd and US 421. The fun will begin at midnight.
You can park at the Post Office building where shuttle buses will take you to the front door.
That is Sir Ed(mund) Hillary's camera which he used to take a picture of Sherpa Tenzing after they were first to reach the highest point on Earth at the summit of Mt Everest in 1953. He was a humble man and refused a picture of himself. He also was first to reach the summit of Everest and both South and North Poles, the latter with Neil Armstrong.
His camera is at present on display in a museum in our city.

These two geese were in a fierce battle and at each other's throat, so we called them Donald and Hillary.

She's an actress, or should be. There seems to be no limit to the expressions, the aura she can create.

The Hillary Harbour Lighthouse which a long historical connection in that that the lantern house which forms the top section of the lighthouse is from the Bedout Island light. Bedouin Island which is 53 nautical miles north-east of Port Hedland had its light tower commissioned on December 13, 1909 and subsequently de-commissioned in 1980 when the original light was demolished and replaced with a stainless steel lattice tower and a new navigation light.
Hence the original lantern house from Bedout Island is now in the Hillary Harbour Lighthouse.
The Hilary Harbour Lighthouse was commissioned on December 22, 1989. It is a sectored light, 24 metres above sea level and has a nominal range of 12 nautical miles.
This information is taken from the information plaque at the lighthouse.
