This shot shows the Rottnest Island ferry leaving the harbour taking visitors over to Rottnest Island (about 14 km away). Hillary's boat harbour is one of 3 ports that run a ferry service to the Island. I have posted shots from Rottnest Island (a paradise not to be missed).

I frequently post, and talk about, things from Hillary's Marina. This harbour is about 8 km south of the Ocean Reef Marina that I also post about.. I live in between the two of them so it's obvious why I post about these locations. Hillary's Marina has been there since the mid 1980s ish. In this shot you can see Sorrento beach to the south and the Marian in the foreground.

This shot is taken on the southern side of the Harbour where all the large boats moor. Interestingly I frequently see cleaning staff working on them but they rarely leave the Marina.

Suns coming up a lot later now. We are still in summer but the sun hasn't appeared by the time I leave Hillarys Marina on my morning rides now. I loved the clouds in this image.

election day. let’s see if we (united states) have learned anything. I remain cautiously skeptical.

I was at Hillarys Marina later than normal on my bike ride. It would have been about mid-morning and the sky was overcast but had a tinge of smoke in it which really tamed the brightness and colours. Everything seemed to have a pastel tone to it. It was quiet and beautiful so I had to snap off a few photos of the water, the foreshore and some yachts :-) It was a magical place to be at that time.

We had a rough morning when Mae had a complication during routine surgery. We couldn't get through to Hillary or her finace but had received a message that Mae might not make it. We knew how devastated Hillary would be so we spent a difficult morning trying to get information. Now I'm going to take a nap but I'll be back when I can.
