Suns coming up a lot later now. We are still in summer but the sun hasn't appeared by the time I leave Hillarys Marina on my morning rides now. I loved the clouds in this image.
I was at Hillarys Marina later than normal on my bike ride. It would have been about mid-morning and the sky was overcast but had a tinge of smoke in it which really tamed the brightness and colours. Everything seemed to have a pastel tone to it. It was quiet and beautiful so I had to snap off a few photos of the water, the foreshore and some yachts :-) It was a magical place to be at that time.
Hillarys Lighthouse taken at sunrise. this is a busy Marina in the morning but managed to get a photo without the usual flotilla of boats entering the Marina.

We had a rough morning when Mae had a complication during routine surgery. We couldn't get through to Hillary or her finace but had received a message that Mae might not make it. We knew how devastated Hillary would be so we spent a difficult morning trying to get information. Now I'm going to take a nap but I'll be back when I can.

My family and I took a holiday in Sonoma and drove around quite a bit to explore. We spent some time in Healdsburg which is a lovely town with a lot of nice cafes. We wandered into this one where they had bacon cupcakes. That's where we met Hillary who was working there that day. Loved her style and loved the cupcakes so I asked her if I could take her portrait. She agreed and held up a cupcake for the shot. Thanks Hillary! :)
This was an amazing sunset over Hillarys boat harbour in Western Australia. The colours were breathtaking.

That is Sir Ed(mund) Hillary's camera which he used to take a picture of Sherpa Tenzing after they were first to reach the highest point on Earth at the summit of Mt Everest in 1953. He was a humble man and refused a picture of himself. He also was first to reach the summit of Everest and both South and North Poles, the latter with Neil Armstrong.
His camera is at present on display in a museum in our city.
kolgans/egyptian goose/alopochen aegyptiaca
These two geese were in a fierce battle and at each other's throat, so we called them Donald and Hillary.

She's an actress, or should be. There seems to be no limit to the expressions, the aura she can create.
