Prescott Autumn Classic 2015

Steve Drane, a motorcycle legend in Victoria BC Canada, was competing in a hillclimb put on by the Victoria Motorcycle Club. (VMC). Drane is the record holder of a hillclimb that used to be held closer to the city of Victoria but because too many citizens complained of noise it was eventually cancelled. Drane's record goes back to the early 80's and he set it with this bike, a 6 cylinder Honda CBX 1000 (cc). Fast forward to Sunday the September 24th and Drane was competing in a new hillclimb further out in the country on the hill at VMC's 170 acre property. Drane is now in his 60's and retired after a long career with his Harley Davidson dealership which he sold recently. I didn't stay to see if he set a new record but I do know he was roaring up the hill just like he used to. Drane is a member of the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame. He is also a cracker jack mechanic on any bike you care to name and started riding at age 6, he has been a life long member of the VMC.

A slow shutter speed to emphasize the speed, best of a few attempts.

I was trying slow shutter and zooming at the same time, not sure if this is one of those shots.
