Shortly after sunrise along Dallas Creek Road, in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado, shafts light shown through the stormy looking clouds to highlight various hot spots along the Sneffels Range. This image captures one of those shafts of light hitting the fall-adorned ridge of aspens, leaving the rest of the scene in shadow by comparison.
I hope you enjoy the image.

'Afternoon Highlights' On Black and Large
The golden glow of late afternoon light baths some dried grass along some rocks in the Alabama Hills.
I'm still torn a little on this one, trying to decide if I should darken the background a little more to remove some of the rocks that show up in the shadows.

I loved the way the sun highlighted her ears as they raise up when she runs. Framed so the barn and blue bird house would be visible.

Popular Photography "Photo of the Day" 1/27/2014
Sculpted stillness and the quiet drama of dusk-toned light.
Shirtless male model in dark briefs, standing against a moody background with dramatic lighting highlighting muscular contours.
The last big cloud in the western sky was playing peek-a-boo as the middle of the rush hour passed at Bayshore.
I only added the b/w effect. I had the chance to find a flower clearer and brighter than the others :)
Every year I published the highlights in a Flickr album of the photos that I uploaded during the year, for this one I decided to do the same but plus create a video about it, enjoy!
I think that it’s a great way to see how my photography dramatically changed (and I hope improved), through those amazing years on Flickr!
Here are my most interesting shots of:

The Highlight Towers are part of an office skyscraper complex in the northern part of Munich. They top out at 126 and 113 meters. After completion in 2004 the further construction of high-rises more than 100 meters tall was prohibited due to a citizen’s initiative. So, they still are the second and fourth tallest building in Munich, after the Uptown München, which was completed the same year.
The twin towers are one of the first and most prominent architectural features visitors see when they arrive in the city from the north as the complex is directly adjacent to the Bundesautobahn 9. With their two bridges arching over the gap between both buildings they form a “gate to Munich”, a name later given to a neighboring high-rise.
The model consists of 1,933 pieces and is built in scale 1:650.
Camped out at Hammond, we shoot the NS Business Train, with its A-B-B-A set of covered wagons, passing under the Pennsylvania Railroad signal bridge.

The highlighter pen is another model I adapted slightly from something I built a few years ago ( www.flickr.com/photos/40182896@N00/sets/72157604175938928/ )
I had to convince DK that the use of a cargo crate was a good idea for the Robotic Rover to add interest, in the end they made a feature of it!
The 2 versions of the rocket shuttle are to illustrate how kids can develop a model to make it more detailed and complex; another hang over from the initial idea of showing lots of ways to build something.
