I like joking about Coldplay but at last... I like their music because of the emotions that goes to the heart.

VIEW FROM MENSTRIE TOWARDS THE OCHILS-GATEWAY TO THE HIGHLANDS.

The Cimon della Pala or simply Cimone (sometimes nicknamed Cervino delle Dolomiti) is the most famous peak of the Pale di San Martino.

Although it is not the highest peak in the group (Vezzana is a few metres higher), its slender edge dominates the panorama visible from Passo Rolle and San Martino di Castrozza.

Kalecik is a town and district of Ankara Province in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey. Kalecik Bridge is on the Kızılırmak river and 7 km. south-east of Kalecik town center. The length of the bridge extending in the north-east south-west direction is 136 meters and the deck is 3.4 meters wide and consists of seven arches with round arches. The last two arches in the south-west direction are wider and higher than the other eyes with 13.57 meters and 14.88 meters openings; The last arch-eye in the north-east direction is below the soil layer in this section. The four arched feet, which are already in the water, sit in a rectangular prismatic massive wheelbase foundation; In the direction of the upstream, there is a triangular prismatic body and a pyramidal basin. The only written evidence proving the history of the bridge known for its recoverable repair is a five-line peninsula dated to the south-west end and between the stones on the side wall and dated to H. 1275 (M.1858 / 59). Although there is no written or visual information about it, it is likely that the first building was constructed in the Seljuk period and in the 13th century.

The berlin cube cloudified and kaleidoscoped for Sliders Sunday. Composite made of two images taken there in mid July. The first image is a capture I took standing right next to the cube's facade and pointing the camera straight up. In Photoshop, I copied the layer with the original image, flipped the new layer horizontally, and cross-faded it with the first layer by using the blending mode "Overlay" at 75 % opacity. 100 % would have resulted in a punchier look on the right side, but I rather liked the softness and that it somehow looks as if the cube would slowly dissolve into or merge with the clouds. The next step was to replace the sky above the cube(s). For that I used a small part of the very first image I'd taken at the cube; I was just about to compose the image in the viewfinder when I noticed the bird, and decided to skip the composing part in favour of the bird ;-) (Birds, just like photographers, love the new berlin cube. There was a constant coming and going on the cube's roof, and it seems that, while not even all new tenants have moved in, yet, the cube's roof has already been occupied by the bird population that lives in the Hauptbahnhof area.) Next, I gently HDRified the finished composite in Aurora, then went into ON1 where I added some sunbeams to the upper sky part of the image, and added a soft glow for an extra airy look.

Happy Sliders Sunday, Everyone, have a nice and safe new week ahead!

Thought the wider view with the very wide falls under the higher flow conditions was warranted ;)

Poor Santa was getting so cold sitting in the snow, he decided to climb the tree to get some sunshine. And this way, he can keep his eyes on the chimney :)

This is Bryce Canyon National Park. It is located in southwestern Utah, United States. The major feature of the park is Bryce Canyon, which despite its name, is not a canyon but a collection of giant natural amphitheaters along the eastern side of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. Bryce is distinctive due to geological structures called "hoodoos" formed by frost weathering and stream erosion of the river and lake bed sedimentary rocks. The hoodoo formation pictured herein is named Thor's Hammer. It is one of the most photographed formations in the Park. The red, orange, and white colors of the rocks provide spectacular views for visitors. Bryce sits at a much higher elevation than nearby Zion National Park. The rim at Bryce varies from 8,000 to 9,000 feet (2,400 to 2,700 m).

(Southern Emerald toucanet / Tucancito Esmeralda)

Like other toucans, the Andean Toucanet is brightly marked and has a large bill. The adult is 30–35 cm (12–14 in) long. The sexes are alike in appearance, although the female generally is smaller and slightly shorter-billed.

The Andean Toucanet is a generally common in humid forest and woodland, mainly at higher elevations.

So now we finally get to the picture why I came to San Quirico D'orcia in Tuscany and why I'm standing here in the field in a pretty icy wind for more than an hour. With what feels like a 10 cm thick layer of loamy earth on and under my boots, which luckily I brought with me.

By the way, the name of this picture is the name of this old typical Tuscan stone house in the foreground. I think this is the most photographed building in this part of Italy. But be careful if you only feed the navigation system with this name. There are other places with the same name. I got to know one of them the day before, 130 km away from here.

For the picture I waited until the sun was a little bit higher and had gained a bit of power, because I wanted to see the fields glowing. To my great joy, this was then made possible for me.

A nice old stone bridge spanning river Meavy near the small village of the same name. We spotted some trout in the crystal clear and still water. I especially like the gnarly and moss-covered tree mirrored on the water surface and framed by the arch.

So many storms lately. The good thing is that in brief moments the sun appears. Feels like a metaphor there somewhere.

This building is directly across from the Union Station. Elevated so high here it feels like its all alone amongst the trees.

We couldn't resist the light on this old engine house with that cloud behind!

On the higher mountains the first snow has fallen, but here around this meander of river the last colors of autumn are resisting. I think it deserved a photo.

The little black cormorant (Phalacrocorax sulcirostris) is a member of the cormorant family of seabirds. It is common in smaller rivers and lakes throughout most areas of Australia and northern New Zealand, where it is known as the little black shag. It is around sixty centimetres long, and is all black with blue-green eyes. The little black cormorant is a small cormorant measuring 60–65 cm with all black plumage. The back has a greenish sheen. In breeding season, white feathers appear irregularly about the head and neck, with a whitish eyebrow evident. The plumage is a more fade brown afterwards. Males and females are identical in plumage. The long slender bill is grey, and legs and feet black. The iris of the adult is green and the juvenile brown. Immature birds have brown and black plumage. The little black cormorant ranges from the Malay Peninsula through Indonesia (but excluding Sumatra) and New Guinea (including the D'Entrecasteaux Islands) and throughout Australia. It is found in New Zealand's North Island. It is a predominantly freshwater species, found in bodies of water inland and occasionally sheltered coastal areas. It is almost always encountered in or near water. The little black cormorant feeds mainly on fish, and eats a higher proportion of fish than the frequently co-occurring little pied cormorant, which eats more decapods. 59100

From our hike last Saturday, windy and sunny on the hills surrounding Belstone, in the north of Dartmoor National Park. There are some signs that granite has been extracted here in the past, the split boulder in the foreground has a row of holes in it, lining the split, possibly to create this break line. A wonderful remote area, only the Dartmoor ponies were all gone....maybe too windy for them?!

Exactly a month after my previous visit to Stourhead, I returned to see the trees changing colour, as the days get shorter. The House at Stourhead is on higher ground than the landscaped gardens. Since the COVID restrictions the route to the gardens is via the higher level and a long walk down through woodland. We were rewarded with this beautiful view over the treetops. The Autumn colours in the trees were beginning to show.
