I was walking around looking for scenes to photograph and decided to switch things up a bit by putting the Holga lens (HL-P) on my Pentax K-S2. I figured it would give me a different perspective on the day. I made several shots which were fine, but nothing that really excited me. Then this woman was walking past wearing red Chuck Taylors. I didn't have time to adjust the manual focus on the Holga, but decided to just try my luck. I didn't even raise the camera to my eye, but rather pointed in the direction I thought would work. When I got back to my computer and took a look at what I got, this was one of the shots I liked a lot. So I'm making it my photo of the day.
I was told by a few men sitting at a hightop table next to the bar that "I had Legs For days"! I told them it was more like the song by ZZ Top - She has Legs and she knows how to use them!!

Today I discovered how much fun freelensing was :) It opens up a whole new world. . .
It makes me smile sometimes when I look at a picture and think about the position I was in when I took it.
Maybe someone walking past would wonder why I was lying on the ground with my feet in the air, holding a camera without the lens attached. Perhaps they would mutter and sigh, "kids these days."
But I don't suppose it really matters, does it?
It's art. We can do what we want.
Sorry for my absence. . .I'll catch up with your streams as soon as I can. And if I owe you a mail, be assured - it's on it's way.

Using this little one for today's photo. This was my first Orange amp, not a tube amp like the big one, but it still sounds pretty good for a little amp like this.

And today... April Fools Day...

... and the only jokes played were on me, by me ... another one of those days when everything went wrong and mistakes were made. Some of them, we won’t even mention.
Mistakes like.... trying to print a “selection” from something and instead having the printer start spitting out a 13 page document, while I am sitting at my desk saying NO! NO! and the salesman by the printer is asking what the heck I am doing... and everytime I tried to cancel the printing, instead of cancelling, it would put another 13 page copy into the queue... until there were 7 of the 13 page copies in queue and I am yelling to John to TURN OFF THE PRINTER until I can make this stop ...because we are told not to waste paper... and he is telling me that I am NOT going to throw all of those copies into HIS garbage can, while I am telling him to STOP TALKING because everyone was going to hear him... and I had already come in in the morning and logged onto the computer when we were told NOT to log onto the computer this morning, but I was off yesterday and I forgot.... so I had to send an email with the subject line.... OH CRAP!! .... yeah, I was pretty sure that this was going to be my last day, actually, there are several days that I think that (Phil!! Don’t read this.... Does Donna lecture you everyday about never again bringing your Flickr friends in for jobs?!!) And oh, yeah... there were more mistakes...
On the bright side, I didn’t set off the alarm at work while I was locking the front door and the CEO was trying to unlock and come in the back door at the same time.... and that’s a good thing.... AND I did get to run today even though I didn’t get started until almost 7:30 and I finished in pitch darkness, but I finished my 3 mile run at a 10:10 pace... 10 seconds off of my goal pace for my 5K. Yeah, I know...it’s still slow.... but I’m telling you, for me, it’s somewhat miraculous!! So, I finished. I saw my time. I was the only one there, in the dark... so for my cool down... I danced on the track.... because I could...because no one could see me... and because you can’t dance without smiling. And then I sent texts to all of my friends, with my route, and my time, and my split times... and I am so sure that they are all going to be so very happy when my 5K is over and they don’t have to receive these texts anymore. (and then there was Dayna .... who answered my text with.... “you danced?” YES!! But that’s not the point!! Look at my time! What about my time?!! “Are there pictures of you dancing.... you sent your friends pictures of you dancing?!!” NO!! Never mind.... *sigh*
So, that was it.... April Fools Day for this April Fool... jokes on me, by me.... mistakes (oh, so many mistakes)... running ...close to my pace (oh so very close!).... dancing in the dark (“You can't start a fire worrying about your little world falling apart” ~ Bruce) ... and if you know anyone that needs a copy of the Gun newsletter.... I have a few extra copies...

Prior to Saturday, I'd never heard of the shoestore "Journeys" . . .
Sometimes "chain stores" work in our favor, especially when a gift card can be purchased in one state and spent in another.
It's the next best thing to being there! Will be the first time in 10 years we won't be able to get to Michigan to celebrate our granddaughter's birthday :(
