From the museum label: Saint Jerome kneels in front of a crucifix, holding a stone and a book - probably the Bible which he translated from Greek into Latin. Besides him is the lion from whose paw he removed a thorn. According to his legend, Jerome lived for a period as a hermit in the wilderness. There, in remorse for his sins, he would beat his chest with rocks in empathy with Christ's Passion. The detailed landscape reflects Dürer's interest in the natural world and his travels.

Removing the display wasn't terribly difficult. I began by disconnecting the LVDS and iSight cables from the motherboard. Then I removed the AirPort antenna wires from the AP card. With everything disconnected, I removed two wire guides from each side to expose the three T6 screws holding the display hinges into the case. I opened the display to a 90 degree angle and removed these screws. The old display lifted off effortlessly, and the new one was put in place and the process was reversed.
