Add High Key drop Photo

I like the crisp clarity around the subject of this decoration who is being held by the angel. Though these are obviously inanimate, their seems to be a caught in motion quality of this image.

As I was processing my photos and playing around I noticed this one could almost qualify for the High Key assignment for CWD so even though it's got a smidge more midtones than probably is wanted I'm submitting it as I got married last week and am working with what I took! ;)

Assignment 1. High key. The "key" of an image describes the nature of the tones presented. In a High key image most of the tones will be brighter than middle gray. Bright background, bright subject, and the dark tones take on a supernatural power to highlight what you want to show.

I think this straight on alittle above shot had gave it alittle more definition especially with the lines on the ball. The shape of this object gave it a good shade from dark to light not straight dark to light.

The sculpture is made of steel (the bolts) and old tires (bicycles, motorcycles and cars).

"Orange Crush"

Follow me, don't follow me

I've got my spine, I've got my orange crush

Collar me, don't collar me

I've got my spine, I've got my orange crush

We are agents of the free

I've had my fun and now its time to

Serve your conscience overseas (over me, not over me)

Coming in fast, over me

Océane portrait High Key

A quick slip of the wrist while using the UFRaw exposure compensation bar, and voila, this nice high-key image popped out. The leaf was lying on top of a light-coloured car's roof. Talk about impromptu studio shot :)

Playing around with curves...

My first "highkey" experiment... I do not know if I used the technique the right way, but I like the result.
