My first trip into the Peak District after a day in Sheffield. Took a detour prior to a 2 hr trip home. Beautiful Scenery.
Spent an hour or so this afternoon on Higger Tor. No real sunset as I had hoped, but met two other photographers and passed the time with them.
This is just the sweetest route for an afternoon stroll. Its only 4k aprox, and can be easily done in two hours. Great views, return to car park, all your route visible in front of you, so that you can lengthen, or shorten it at will. Gentlle stroll downhill, jump the stream, then return by two easy uphill scrambles to shake the cobwebs off. You can follow the stream back to your car, or do the whole walk in reverse. It is magical !
I put this 360 degree panorama together from some photographs that I took on 11th July 2010 at Burbage on the outskirts of Sheffield, UK.

December 2021 to January 2022.
Central London Outdoor Group's (CLOG) Christmas / New Year weekend away based in Hathersage.
Circular walk from Hathersage via Padley Gorge, Higger Tor and Stanage Edge.
The summit of Over Owler Tor, looming against the sky. I have always thought that the distinctive shape of the tor looks like the ruins of an ancient fortress, destroyed in some long forgotten siege.
It's always a wodnerful place to be to watch the sun go down, there are always people here taking in the views over the rolling Derbyshire hills. After rainfall, you'll find these little puddles everywheresettling into the rocks and it makes for a great foreground subject. www.clarkphotographic.com
