"I want to be just like you".......the little sunflower said stretching as high as he could to tell the big sunflower this.

Sammamish, Washington State. USA.

This is an extremely vulnerable topic for my family and myself. My son suffers from severe autism, he is unable to communicate verbally, he has never uttered the word "mom" or "dad", never expressed his feelings verbally, never been able to tell us he loves us. There is little in a typical day he can do without help and guidance. For large parts, he is trapped in his own internal world and battles overload of his senses frequently. Moments of locked eye contact are extremely rare. He struggles, he suffers, we suffer.

Seeing past his autism and discovering him as a person, as an individual with traits other than what is forced on him by his autism has been the hardest challenge I have ever been confronted with in my life. It's a battle I fight every day, with big losses and small victories. This image shoes a small victory as his eyes and the lens of the camera lock for just long enough, allowing me to capture a piece of who he is as a person.

I love you my son.

One year ago today I had my fifth surgery for a recurring detached retina.

It has been a journey and it is still very challenging adapting to partial vision loss, only last week I had a wee fall and injured my left hand due to impaired depth perception.

However, I am truly grateful for the NHS professionals that helped me retain what eyesight I have today.

I strongly believe building with Lego bricks has improved both my physical and mental well-being.

It has been a fantastic 12-months Lego-wise, with my University of Edinburgh library model raising over £2K for Sight Scotland, getting a MOC displayed in the Edinburgh Lego Store and having my FAB-AT-AT go viral!

My original plan was to write a long-form blog post to positively mark the occasion. But work has been taxing and I’m limiting my screen time wherever possible, so this micro post will have to suffice for now.

Thank you to my family, friends and followers for the support this last year.

Leg godt!

Love, Stewart ❤️💛💙

Done some maths yesterday and I’ve given myself over 57K injections since my #T1D diagnosis. Today’s vaccination felt like the most important yet. Thank you NHS.

Grace is the Green Rainbow Candidate for governor of Massachusetts. Currently, in a 4 way race, polls show Grace with 1% of registered voters likly to vote for her. This is actually a huge percentage for a "third party" candidate.

This was taken at the Awards Ceremony to recognize learders who have worked to provide quality, affordable healthcare to all Massachusetts health care and home care consumers. NONE of the other candidates for governer attended.

behind Grace, you can see photos from the Unseen America project.

‘Hello, Toilet Dolly!’ is a Sight Scotland charity fundraiser by Stewart Lamb Cromar (aka Stubot), an amateur Lego artist with sight loss.

Ceremony was well attended, with the notable exception of three out of the four candidates for governor.

This is Elmo. He was the first facility dog at an Australian airport and helps travellers who may get anxious at the airport. People with a hidden disability can contact Adelaide Airport and arrange for a sunflower lanyard to assist with the check-in and boarding process.

Martina is running for Lieutenant governor, as the Green Rainbow candidate. The election will be November 7th. She is on the "ticket" with Grace Ross. Actually, in Mass, there is no "ticket" and each office is elected seperately. I have not seen any published polls for lieutenant governor.
