"Do you always have to tell him everything

On your mind?

You know that too much honesty can be

So unkind

And every time you throw him to the floor

Why are you surprised to see he's breakable?

You always try to find what's holding him

Away from you

But do you ever see your anger standing there

Right between you?

And every time you throw him to the wall

Why are you surprised to see he's breakable?"

I just could not get this song out of my mind so here we go...

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 King James Version (KJV)

9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

He's big., looks a little like a Pterodactyl's smaller cousin., and has an 'alpha' male mentality! when one arrives near you., you just know something will happen., and when one flies past like this one it always grabs your attention. Beautiful large bird and the world (and photography) would be far poorer place without him!

After a long absence Mr. Feral comes back home to a warm welcome and a hearty meal.

A shot from over a week back now. I think this pair may have mated the previous day and were on the same perch early the next morning. The female was in particularly good condition so may have only emerged the day before.

This is a useful shot in terms if i.d.-ing the female Chalkhill Blue in comparison to the female Adonis Blue (two posts previous). The female Chalkie is much deeper brown and the orange spots will be, on the whole, far less developed.

If I've any regrets re this shot it would be that I didn't do a couple at say f-8 from this distance - it would have meant I could have got all the fur on the female focused as well however I got a bot greedy and got closer as they certainly weren't going anywhere.

Hi Everyone!

A successful fishing trip and a little bit of jealousy! It turned out that the Pelicans on the left tried to grab the fish. During the scuffle, the fish was dropped into the water and immediately snatched up by a totally different pelican!

"Whatcha collecting there son?"

"Gold and sticks."

"Are you sure it's gold?"

"Yup. Look at it's color mommy...that's gold. Can I bring it home?"

"You can."

"Son, what are the sticks for?"

"Building."

"Building what?"

"Dunno. Somethin'. When I get home."

"Ummm...Okay..."

Oh to be a 7 year old again. I would love to be inside his head for just a moment. I bet it's filled with all sorts of good and interesting stuff. BTW...he's one rich boy. He's got gold now! Lol.

He appeared out of the fog and vanished when I tried to take another photo.

He landed so close, this image was taken on 150mm....
