The New River Path is a long-distance footpath which follows the course of the New River for 28 miles (45 km) from its source in Hertfordshire to its original end in Islington, London. The path is waymarked throughout its length and all signs display the NR logo
Photo taken in the early morning at a great distance from the red deer. The area was beautifully illuminated by the rising sun. The enlargement of the red deer gave the whole something picturesque,
and who can do that better than nature itself!
Bussum/Bussummerheide - 17 augustus 2017
Als ik op de uitgestrekte Bussummerheide wandel, ga ik eigenlijk automatisch op zoek naar de kudde Schotse Hooglanders. Ik vind ze niet altijd, zoals ook deze keer.
Maar alles was in een keer goed, toen ik plotseling een hert zag lopen net buiten de bosrand van een van de vele bossages. Pakweg een meter of 75 van het pad vandaan dat ik volgde. Het was pas de tweede keer van al mijn bezoeken, dat een hert mijn pad kruiste. Het zal mede komen door de extra rust in het natuurgebied, vanwege het enigszins regenachtige weer. Nu is het daar altijd tamelijk stil, maar dit keer waande ik mij moederziel alleen. En gelukkig was het net gestopt met regenen, zodat mijn lens droog bleef.
