Long time no see, big hugs to to all :)
Merry Christmas everyone, wishing you all a safe and peaceful holiday season.
Our beautiful Adelaide Hills are burning out of control at the moment and a state emergency has been issued for our region. Firefighters are amongst the most heroic and bravest souls in the universe. While others run to save their lives, they are running into flaming hells to save us. The smoke haze over Adelaide is causing havoc with our air quality but is also causing some astounding sunset colours in the sky.

This Townsend's warbler was posed in the bushes the other day; with the one leg up, it reminds me of a statue of some heroic figures!

The Ribeira Sacra is one of the most symbolic examples of what is known as heroic viticulture. This term refers to the conditions of the terrain, which make growing and tending vines especially difficult and which force wine-growers and producers to overcome vertigo on the hillsides.
Distribution of vineyards down terraces or hillsides to preserve the slope of the terrain - which can reach gradients of 100%- creates a space where mechanisation is impossible.
With the exception of the odd track in some vineyards to transport crates, winegrowers’ and wine producers’ hands, arms and backs do all the work here, and moving through vines requires true acrobatic skill. Heroic viticulture is most symbolically represented in the grape-harvesting period.
Since 2011, the CERVIM (Centre for Research, Environmental Sustainability and Advancement of Mountain Viticulture) has offered a specific seal to define this type of viticulture, which only a few Spanish Designations of Origin can use. One of these is Ribeira Sacra.
As winter drags on Echinacea is often recommended as an herbal remedy used to boost the immune system against the common cold. At any rate just looking at images of summer Coneflowers, 'Echinacea' boosts my spirits.

A briliant Man,built like a Tower of Steel
Some believe He was Unreal ...
In 343 B.C., King Philip II hired the philosopher Aristotle to tutor Alexander at the Temple of the Nymphs at Meiza. Over the course of three years, Aristotle taught Alexander poetry, drama, science, politics, the meaning of Justice & the skills of Rhetoric.
Alexander's passion for learning never decayed.
Seeing that Homer's Iliad inspired Alexander to dream of becoming a heroic warrior, Aristotle created an abridged version of the tome for Alexander to carry with him on military campaigns.

A mi me gusta el reloj,
mas no el de la muñeca.
Me gusta ése que toca
y que hasta en los cuartos suena.

Nusch, el Señor Alcalde,
se toma de un solo trago
una gran jarra de vino,
salvando de esta manera
la quema de la ciudad.
El Conde de Tilly
incrédulo se repliega
ante tal heroicidad.
A mi me gusta el reloj
y su réplica solar.
Y me gusta más la historia
que nos cuenta a cada hora
el reloj de la ciudad.

The Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight’s Supermarine Spitfire MK356 climbs out of Gloucestershire airport at Staverton on 4th September 2021. The aircraft is painted to represent Spitfire Mk IXC EN152 ‘QJ-3’ of No 92 Squadron in Tunisia in 1943. In its desert camouflage scheme, MK356 commemorates the hard-fought and ultimately successful war in the North African desert, and honours the heroic pilots and stoic ground crews of the Desert Air Force.
dedication
this picture is dedicated to the valiant, tireless and overworked women and men around the world who, at great risk to themselves and to their families and friends, fight, sacrifice and increasingly die heroically trying to treat, save, comfort and console the infected and keep safe their communities.
in this time of great human suffering, uncertainty and angst, my heart weeps for these amazing people with tears of profound awe, sorrow and, most of all, thanks.
please, if you are able, raise your voice and your wallet to support and fight hard from the outside so that those on the front lines inside can do their best safely with the personal protective equipment they terribly need and so-richly deserve.
life is short. please do not forget to share the love you have while you can.
finally, many thanks to each of you for your consistent, heartwarming friendship and kind words of support. you put smiles on my face each and every day and i am deeply appreciative.
keep the faith and be safe.

I am a part of all I’ve met
Taping life’s journey together
Petal by petal, Angel to Angel
Forever wandering
Where frolic may engage
And memories twinkle
Beyond heroic souls
In each special place;
Upon any single day
My purpose holds
As I thrive in age.
I am a part of all I’ve met
My journey has never been better
Endlessly celebrated
Page by page;
Day after day.

While I love exploring the realms of all Second Life has to offer by visiting astonishing sims and ogling over spectacles and themed venues, I do prefer setting out my own scenery when it comes to a focus on Designer’s reviews. I’ve taken great care and pride in my presentation where I hope to capture the hearts of an artist’s audience and, most especially, to bring forth revenue and customers to the Creator’s I blog for.
Hence….I am proud to present a few Designers that are always tugging at my heart with their creative designs. While I jumped for joy to learn I am one of 6 Finalists in E.V.E’s Blogger Search, I hoped to express exactly what is important to me when I do take on a responsibility to review.Continued

Belchite is a municipality in the province of Zaragoza, Spain, located 49 km from the capital. It has a population of 1,636 inhabitants (source: INE (2010)) and 273.58 km². It is the head of the region known as "Tierras de Belchite".
It is known to have been the scene of one of the symbolic battles of the Spanish Civil War, the Battle of Belchite. As a result of the clashes, the town was destroyed. Instead of its reconstruction, Francisco Franco's regime decided to create a new town next door (today known as Belchite new), leaving intact the ruins of the previous one as a reminder of the civil war and what were considered excesses of the vanquished side.3 The whole, today abandoned and partly closed to the passage of people, is known as Pueblo Viejo de Belchite. It has the titles of very noble, loyal and heroic villa, and holds the cross laureate of San Fernando that Franco gave him.4
Messolonghi, Aetoloacarnania, Greece 2018. Celebrating the heroic exodus of people of Missolonghi in 1826. The self-sacrifice paved the way for country’s independence. Even today they show the way. History is repeated.
Celebrations are also dedicated to the Greek folk hero Lord Byron. he fought, gave all his possessions and finally his own life in the struggle for freedom, for the universal ideals.
I wonder
does Artificial Intelligence have courage
will it stand in the gap to protect freedom and love
will it take that bullet with true heroics
or will just give us over to a faceless coward
the father of this life
created a thing not known to stand above
but to creep and crawl like a snake in the mud
they tell us it's purpose is for the greater good
but how can that be
without a tongue to taste
a heart to feel
or a hand to hold
all that is truly good noble and bold.
The statue which faces the Menai Strait here may look like a product of the British euphoria and mourning after Lord Nelson met his heroic death at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. However, the statue was erected much later, in 1873, by an artist experimenting with concrete. It was also a useful landmark for mariners.
Art lover and sculptor Lord Clarence Paget, a former Lord of the Admiralty, lived at Plas Llanfair, up the slope behind the statue. He had used concrete to make statues for his grounds and noticed they were more durable than marble in this exposed area. He found that concrete was much cheaper than marble, bronze or stone and could be manipulated easily.
Sir Llewelyn Turner, a former Caernarfon mayor, recalled in 1903 that a concrete statue of Neptune, Roman god of the sea, was originally planned but he told Lord Clarence: “What has Neptune done for us? Nelson is the proper subject.”
The Admiralty happened to be surveying the Menai Strait at the time, and Lord Clarence accepted its suggestion that, with only a small alteration to the statue’s planned location, the artwork would serve as a navigation aid for mariners travelling in either direction along this difficult stretch of water.
Portland cement and iron for the internal framework were donated by suppliers. At the unveiling ceremony in September 1873, Lord Clarence acknowledged the help he’d received in creating the statue from a “faithful and patient Welshman named John Jones”.
The Admiralty had already marked the statue on its newest chart by the time of the ceremony.
Lord Nelson became a British celebrity after leading the Royal Navy’s defeat of the French at the Battle of the Nile in 1798. Shortly before his final battle against the French at Trafalgar, he used coloured flags on his ship HMS Victory to send a message to the whole fleet: “England expects that every man will do his duty.” The same words are inscribed on the base of the statue, facing the Strait.

I wish I could reshoot this one. I would have liked the end of the trumpet to be in focus as the body, but I didn't position myself so that it would be in the same plane of focus. I also don't like that the fingers of the left hand are in the empty space; still, there's enough definition in the fingers to be distinguishable.

This image is dedicated to the President of the United States of America, Mr. Barak Hussein Obama. OK, he might never get to see this image and he might never get to know about this dedication either. What a pity, he doesn’t know what he is missing. LOL!
So you might be wondering why I am doing this. The sitting president has on his desk a proposal to create a new national monument called Bear Ears. This national monument would give protection to 1.9 million acres and contains more than 100,000 cultural and archeological sites. At the moment this area is the most significant unprotected archeological area in the United States.
There is a fierce political battle going on. On one side republican Utah representatives Rob Bishop and Jason Chaffetz who are telling constituents for three years that they have been drafting legislation to protect the area, but they failed to introduce legislation containing specific boundaries and provisions. It became increasingly clear that the so-called negotiations that they aimed to run out the clock on the Obama administration’s ability to use the Antiquities Act to create a national monument.
On the other side of the rope is an unprecedented Inter-Tribal Coalition of 26 tribes and other environmentally interested organizations trying to get the President of the Untied States of America to sign the bill before he leaves the office beginning of next year.
Obama has previously showed vision and courage in using this authority, and creating a Bears Ears National Monument would be very much in that tradition and fully justified by the facts.

The Centennial Land Run Monument commemorates the opening of the Unassigned Land in Oklahoma Territory with the Land Run of 1889. The frenzied energy and emotion from one instant during the run is captured in bronze by artist Paul Moore. It is one of the world’s largest bronze sculptures featuring 45 heroic figures of land run participants, frozen in motion as they race to claim new homesteads. Located at the south end of the Bricktown Canal.
Monty looking heroic at the top of Drygarn Fawr in Mid Wales. Drygarn Fawr has got to be one of the bleakest places I know in Wales, especially on a day when there is a biting wind, the temperature is around zero and the cloud threatens to engulf the hilltop. It is hard work under snow and ice. This hill has two of the biggest cairns I know of, both of which were built by the workers who built the dams in the Elan Valley far below.
