The Swedish artist Henrik Håkansson (*1968 in Helsingborg, S; lives in Berlin and Falkenberg, S) became internationally famous with his installations. They deal with the consequence of the human influence on the environment. He combines cinematic and sculptural elements and acquires the role of the interloper and the destroyer, as well as the creator and carer of the growth of nature.
In the centre of the exhibition A tree (suspended) will stay a beech, which was already discharged by the forester. By request of the artist the beech was removed with the rooting.

My all time favourite best friend and drummer. He is also a bandmate in my rock&roll band, Summer Freeze. He is a person who opens gates... never builds walls. We could say I'm the singing bird in his opened cage.

Aberdeen Nuart Festival 2021.
Born in South Korea and raised in Norway, Henrik Uldalen is the second artist in resident for Nuart Aberdeen 2021.
Henrik’s mural is a homage to the granite city. Painted in dark hues it reveals a face with crystals growing out of it. It is representative of the granite which gives the city it’s identifiable look and feel. Slowly emerging from the earth’s core, granite crystallises as it reaches the earths surface. Creating the work over four days it’s a reminder of the cities emergence.
