* This rather lovely hill was behind our holiday cottage. The rounded shape of the hill was not repeated anywhere else in the Dale . I only found out at the end of the holiday that it had a name ,Helm Knott . Which explains the address of the cottage asthe little hamlet was called Helmside . The sheep I think add to the bucolic landscape
THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT TO MY STREAM.
I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD NOT FAVE A PHOTO WITHOUT ALSO LEAVING A COMMENT .
Grasmere, Lake District UK.
Taken during the mandatory walk around Grasmere, one of the most beautiful lakes in the Lake District.
.. given a sepia makeover.
This rock formation is at the top of Helm Crag in the Lake District, UK.
You can't say you've really climbed Helm Crag until you clamber up to the top of it. This is the only Wainwright that Wainwright never conquered.. and I couldn't manage it either :-(
...another great moment of light on the top as showers passed through. A well positioned sheep adding scale
Helm Crag located to the north-west of the village of Grasmere. The rocky profile of its summit lends itself to its alternative name of ‘The Lion and the Lamb’.
Several derelict boats were docked together at Moss Landing, waiting to be stripped before scrapping. I wonder if I should have asked if I could have this wheel.
This little spot is one of my favorite places to explore at different times of the year. As the water level rises and falls the landscape reveals many different opportunities. It is a very calm, relaxing location.
Thanks for stopping by.
At the Ilana Goor Museum, a suspended helm embraces light.
A sculptural housing, crowned with luminous halos, hovers like a relic in flight.
An old derelict waiting to be stripped before being junked at Moss Landing, just north of Monterey, California. I wonder if they would have let me have that wheel.
Helm Crag near Grasmere seen here in typical Lake District weather! Its summit rocks have various names such as: 'The Howitzer' and 'The Lion and Lamb'.
This is the summit of Helm Crag, sometimes called the Lion and the Lamb. A great little walk near Grasmere
Grasmere Lake, Grasmere, Lake District
I had to look it up… is it a water, a lake, a tarn or just a name. Apparently it is simply known as Grasmere although other references call it Grasmere Lake with the River Rothay feeding into Rydal Water. Anyway, that’s not important.
This was our last stop of the day. I’d mentioned in a previous upload that we had already lost Mark in the Wood and Pete and Mike were happily playing Drone Wars with each other for the best aerial views which left me to shoot at ground zero.
I think we all ended up taking this viewpoint in the end and I’m probably the last to post my take on the composition, besides not posted a square image since Steetley Pier.
The Battle of Helm's Deep from Lord of the Rings- The Two Towers.
Finally finished this! It was on display at BrickCon last weekend. It's 6.3 feet long and includes about 200 minifigures.

Hello everybody. Today I want to show you my creation for the Lord of the Rings micro-scale collab from the LotrLug (www.instagram.com/lotrlug/). The task for my part was to build a Helms Deep MOC on a 32x16 base. Due to the fact that this castle is one of my favorite places in the LotR movies, it was really an interesting challenge to recreate that place on such a small base.
The design of the Tower is a bit inspired by Simon Hundsbichler (www.flickr.com/photos/138986803@N03).
You can find more photos of my creation on my Instagram account (www.instagram.com/balbo._/?hl=de). I hope you like it :)
