....the nice thing about photography is that it carries the mood of precious moments....it 's lovely to dive in to the tirquoise waters where we swam once more, this time through going over the pictures we made while being there...
I'd love to be there just even a little tiny bit more but we need to learn to be happy & satisfied with what we have....am grateful for these gorgeous days spent in Greece and am also happy to be back home to this little Penthouse nest...I hope we can all enjoy the moments in life!
Happy 1st. day of summer my friends! These are some of the lovely roses in my front garden, both red & pink, next to my driveway, as you can see.

"If we’re going to talk, then let’s talk. Forget about what is polite or proper and delve right into what is sincere and honest. Lead me down through the labyrinth of your true, spectacular self. I am not interested in pleasantries.
If you want a conversation, then let’s get lost." —@beautaplin, Real Talk
The ocean has always been my happy place; with a wide-brimmed hat, a good book and a soft fragrance to refresh me from the sun, I could sit and stare at the sea all day.
Summer is finally here & my scented roses are reaching for the clear, blue, skies! I wish you could smell the perfume of these beautiful roses, it's amazing! A friend gave me a shoot from her garden a few years ago & now they're all over my garden! This rose originates from Nova Scotia & the story goes that because they are thornless, Bridal bouquets where made from them!
"The first week of August hangs at the very top of summer, the top of the live-long year, like the highest seat of a Ferris wheel when it pauses in its turning.
The weeks that come before are only a climb from balmy spring, and those that follow a drop to the chill of autumn, but the first week of August is motionless, and hot. It is curiously silent, too, with blank white dawns and glaring noons, and sunsets smeared with too much color." — Natalie Babbitt, Tuck Everlasting

"We need the tonic of wildness—At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be infinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable.
We can never have enough of nature. We must be refreshed by the sight of inexhaustible vigor, vast and titanic features, the sea-coast with its wrecks, the wilderness with its living and its decaying trees, the thunder-cloud, and the rain which lasts three weeks and produces freshets.
We need to witness our own limits transgressed, and some life pasturing freely where we never wander" 👟
— Walden by Henry David Thoreau
“ 'Anything I learnt would have to be justified by private benefit rather than by the interest of others. My discoveries would have to enliven me; they would have in some way to prove ‘life-enhancing’.
The term was Nietzsche's. In the autumn of 1873, Friedrich Nietzsche composed an essay in which he distinguished between collecting facts like an explorer or academic and using already well known facts to the end of inner, psychological enrichment”

Have you ever wished you had an opportunity to redo something? Well, here’s your chance! For the final theme of the A-Z 3.0 cycle, you may choose to create a new photo for any previous theme from this cycle. Whether you weren’t satisfied with your original photo entry, you didn’t have time to play a particular theme, or if you have more ideas for one theme you already played, this is an opportunity to create a photo that is second to none!
For the redo photo, I had three candidates.😄
The first was K - knot - I and my mom - we both not so satisfied with the idea that we then realized and created with overall composition of the photo.
The second favorite was R - Relationship goals - we really liked this theme and we had more ideas. We thought we would play again with our favorite couple Corie & Paul (Poppy & Chip). In the end, we made a compromise that you will see and we chose our third tip.
The third (and very hot!😀) favorite was L - long legs - I remember my mom and I didn't know what at the last minute make. We were still looking for an interesting idea, but was missing. In the end, we both didn't like the resulting photo and I also didn't like the quality of the photo (wrong lighting conditions with my camera).
And now we finally got an idea that we like and we were able to create it dioramatically!😎

Try to learn to breathe deeply, really to taste food when you eat, and when you sleep, really to sleep. Try as much as possible to be wholly alive with all your might, and when you laugh, laugh like hell.” —Hemingway
"We travel because we need to, because distance and difference are the secret tonic of creativity.
When we get home, home is still the same. But something in our mind has been changed, and that changes everything" 🍃💦💚 —Jonah Lehrer, Why We Travel: The San Francisco Panorama (McSweeney’s, scienceblogs.com/cortex/2009/12/10/why-we-travel)
“Sublime places repeat in grand terms a lesson that ordinary life typically introduces viciously: that the universe is mightier than we are, that we are frail and temporary and have no alternative but to accept limitations on our will, that we must bow to necessities greater than ourselves.
This is the lesson written into the stones of the desert and the ice fields of the poles. So grandly is it written there that we may come away from such places not crushed but inspired by what lies beyond us, privileged to be subject to such majestic necessities. The sense of awe may even shade into a desire to worship.”

Nice clouds in the sky on a summer day in the majestic Cyprus, in Dekeleia area.
Tried to give the sense of summer from another perspective!
Things have conspired all season to keep us from swimming. Finally, today, we made it down to the creek bordering our friends' property. Now I can say it's truly summer!
I saw a similar shot to this recently on a blog -- I can't remember where! But I've been hoping to give it a try. This is one of our friends (my girls didn't feel like doing this for me).
[edit: found the photo that inspired me: www.picturesocial.com/photo/bw-shotswater-games -- puts me to shame!]
