I held this back because the pilot is in shadow and it disappointed me, anyway here it is.
The Percival Provost, often called the Piston Provost, entered service with the Royal Air Force in 1951 as a trainer and was replced in 1961 by the Jet Provost. The last Provost was retired in 1969. This example, XF603 / G-KAPW, was built in 1955 and belongs to the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden, Beds where it is a regular performer at their airshows.

I official have a summer cold. I can't believe it, I've never had a summer cold. I must have picked it up when I went to my Veteran's clinic. That place is like walking through a petri dish. Anyway, I think the worst is over. The sore throat is gone. I no longer fill like I'm in fog bank. I do still have the annoying runny nose, but it's not as bad as it was. So, hopefully, it will have run it course by Monday. Just hanging around the house is driving me crazy

In the recently held vintage car rally in Delhi, all the cars participating were shown at Red Fort. This beauty, a 1936 old-timer Bentley 3.5 ltr. 2-door Vintage Sports Saloon full-size luxury car, when I saw I totally fell in love with it. It looked grand and amazingly stunning. To justify its grandeur I had to do some manipulation to the image. Putting a new background and removing reflections on the car. And how these little changes have made the subject stand-out and look its best!

The Austonian held the crown of tallest building in Austin for nine years until The Independent surpassed it by only seven feet in 2019. Located at 200 Congress Ave., the 683-foot tall, 56-story building is a modern architectural icon in this rapidly growing city.
This post modern skyscraper was designed by Ziegler Cooper Architects of Houston. At the time of its completion in 2010, the Austrian was both the tallest building in Austin, and the tallest residential skyscraper in the United States west of the Mississippi River. Both distinctions are now held by The Independent, although another downtown Austin tower, Sixth and Guadalupe and still under construction, has already topped out at its final height of 865-feet and is scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2023.
Austin is the capital of the State of Texas, as well as the seat of Travis County. With a population of just under one million residents, Austin is the 11th largest city in the United States. The Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos Metropolitan Area, now with a population of 2.3M, is one of the fastest growing large metropolitan areas in the country having added more than 579,000 residents since 2010.

A glimpse of aged familiarity, a sight once routine now reserved for all but the most infrequent of passages, a cigar-banded bluebonnet of the special duty variety guides two contemporaries (in livery only) and 62 cars of miscellaneous freight from Chicagoland towards classification at BNSF's terminal at Galesburg via local L CHI1051 09A, conjuring memories lost 27 years prior of when the great Santa Fe ruled the Transcon and the prairie towns like Ransom which dot its bucolic Illinois landscape.

I held a blue wine glass up to the sky on a sunny day, and shot into with the center with a macro lens. The bubbles in the glass were accentuated by the sunlight.

Patagonia has always held a special place in my heart. The vast landscapes, imposing mountains, serene lakes, and diverse wildlife leave me breathless. It was in this magical region that I experienced one of the most thrilling moments of my life: a face-to-face encounter with a puma.
On the second day of the W Circuit trek, I was hiking solo from Central Mountain Hostel towards Francés Mountain Hostel (a roughly 17 km/10.5-mile, 6-hour trek) when I spotted a figure in the bushes. My heart raced – could it be a Lesser Rhea ( flic.kr/p/2mw23tV ), the ostrich-like bird I'd been hoping to see?
Cautiously, I started taking pictures. To my surprise and delight, the creature emerged from hiding. But it wasn't a Rhea – it was a puma!
I never imagined seeing a puma so close. Its beauty and imposing presence left me speechless for a moment. I watched it, mesmerized by its reddish-gray coat and piercing eyes.
Torres del Paine National Park is estimated to have a puma population between 50 and 100. These magnificent animals are the second-largest cats in the Americas, after jaguars, though considered "small" globally. While Patagonian pumas are Chile's largest feline, males typically weigh between 150 and 220 pounds (68-100 kg), while females weigh over 100 pounds (49 kg). Their length can range from 5 to 9 feet (1.5-2.7 meters) from head to tail. (For reference, I'm 5'8" tall and weigh 140 pounds – 1.73 meters and 63.5 kg).
Fear quickly replaced my awe. I was alone in a wild environment, facing a top predator. What should I do?
Safety leaflets from the park entrance came to mind – make eye contact, stand tall, and don't run. Generally, staying calm is key around wild animals, as they're unlikely to attack unless threatened. Additionally, in a park with abundant food sources like guanacos, rheas, huemuls, Patagonian gray foxes, and culpeo foxes, the pumas likely wouldn't see me as prey.
Carefully, I put my camera away and gripped my trekking poles tightly. If the puma attacked, I'd defend myself with everything I had.
A Happy Ending and Unforgettable Lesson:
Thankfully, the puma showed no interest in me. With the same calmness it displayed upon arrival, it retreated back into the forest.
Trembling with a mix of emotions, I stood there for a few minutes. Adrenaline still coursed through my veins, but overwhelming joy and gratitude filled me. I had just witnessed a spectacular display of nature's power.
This encounter profoundly impacted me. It instilled a deep respect for wildlife and their habitat. It also revealed the awe-inspiring power of nature and the importance of connecting with it.

The butterfly mostly held its wings closed, opened them for a second to catch the light, and I happened to shoot just then. It was a magical moment, and will probably be one of my favourite photos of the summer.
I don't like to point my camera at strangers' gardens uninvited. Today the person who walks Sunny the Dog invited me to photograph her garden. Then three monarch butterflies appeared over the garden next door. The man who lives there has conversed amiably with me before, so I didn't feel inhibited about crossing the driveway. Thank goodness for kind people.
