In Iqaluit, winter’s weight is measured not only in drifts but in connection. The airport is the city’s sole lifeline to other communities and the South, a fragile thread of supply and travel across nine months of snow and ice.
Snow removal here is more than maintenance—it is vigilance, survival, and continuity. Airport staff remain alert through the long Arctic winter, ensuring that flights can land, goods can arrive, and the community can endure. This image captures the stark choreography of resilience, where infrastructure meets necessity and daily labor becomes the poetry of endurance.

When the compost at the bio recycling centre has gone through it's heat fermentation it is put in piles. After a while this machine rips the piles apart. Watch out for any flying stones.

In the grounds of the former Poble Sec power plant, in the Paral·lel avenue, Barcelona, this heavy machinery equipment stands. In the middle of the park.
Whatever it is, it was manufactured by the German machinery factory Gebruder Reuling, in Mannheim - Neckarau, maybe in 1900, as there's this number inscribed, although it could have another meaning.

Groins are shore perpendicular structures, used to maintain updrift beaches or to restrict longshore sediment transport. By design, these structures are meant to capture sand transported by the longshore current; this depletes the sand supply to the beach area immediately down-drift of the structure
