A great thyme for container planter.

Kozy Coat protection for unstable spring weather.

I created this card for Hero Arts June2012B Challenge, Daniel's WSW12 Material Whirl Challenge, and Neysa's WSW12 Birds of a Feather Challenge. I had forgotten that Neysa did not want us to combine her challenge with other challenges... so I am posting it to Neysa's challenge, so others can see it, but it will not count toward Neysa's challenge or RAK. (Sorry, Neysa!)

To create this card, I started with a piece of Sticky-Back Canvas by Claudine Hellmuth for Ranger. I used a blending tool and foam to apply Shabby Shutters Distress Ink all over the surface. Then I stamped a peacock from Hero Arts CL447 Beautiful Peacocks using Ranger Archival Ink in black.

My stamped impression did not work so well on the canvas, so I used a Micron permanent ink pen to trace over the lines that did not stamp well. Then I used washable Crayola markers to color in the peacock. I added Turquoise Stickles glitter glue to the peacock feathers as an accent, and set it aside to dry.

The background is a patterned paper called Teachers Lounge from Basic Grey's Recess collection. I stamped a feather from the same Hero Arts stamp set and the "thinking of you" sentiment from Hero Arts CL140 Thinking of You Messages using Tsukineko VersaMark watermark ink. Then I heat embossed it with Ranger turquoise embossing powder.

Next I die cut and dry embossed a turquoise matte using Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Three in my Cuttlebug. Once the Stickles glitter glue was dry, I peeled the backing from the Sticky-Back Canvas and adhered it to the matte. Then I adhered the focal panel off-center on the card base using foam squares for dimension.

Square foot planting method with lettuce from Mason House in Uxbridge. #1

Geopot grow bag converted into a SIP. #3 a view inside.

This is the collage background that I created on watercolor paper, that I then used to create the maple leaves for my Mixed Media Leaves Card.

Inspired by Two Peas in a Bucket's Stamping A to Z Event. For the M is for... My Mind's Eye (Part 2), P is for... Penny Black, Q is for... Quick, R is for... Ranger, and S is for... Sizzix (Part 1) challenges.

Focal image is made from 140# cold-pressed watercolor paper by Canson Montval. I placed my Ranger non-stick craft sheet on my work surface. Then I applied Broken China and Pumice Stone Distress Inks directly to the craft sheet and misted them with water until it beaded. I dipped the watercolor paper face down into the ink, wiggled it, turned it over, and immediately dried it with my Heat It craft tool (heat gun).

Then I used water in a mini-mister to create water droplets on the surface. I dried the water immediately with my heat tool. This gives me the best water splotchy effect. Next, I mixed Pewter Perfect Pearls with water on my craft sheet. I used a paint brush to flick them onto the watercolor paper to make the silvery sparkles. I used a paper towel to wipe up the excess ink and Perfect Pearls from my craft sheet.

Next, I stamped Penny Black 4185F Happiness using Ranger Archival Ink in jet black. When the ink was dry, I used a Sizzix / Tim Holtz French Connection Texture Fades embossing folder with an angel wing to dry emboss the card. I wrapped the card with My Mind's Eye Together Twine from the Lime Twist collection and added a metal embellie from Making Memories. I used Ranger Glossy Accents to glue the metal piece to the card.

Then I adhered the watercolor piece to a chocolate brown artist trading card (ATC) base. For me, ATCs go quickly. Especially when I don't have to color anything. I keep watercolor ATC blanks and cardstock ATC bases pre-made and on hand. For this, I just applied a little ink, stamped one sentiment in black - nothing fancy - wrapped it with twine and adhered it to the base. It takes me far less time to do an ATC than a whole card.

Just sharing a quick card I made for a friend. Not for a challenge; just for fun.

Background is green cardstock. I stamped Hero Arts CG119 Flourish Background on top, using VersaFine Vintage Sepia pigment ink. When the ink was dry, I added highlights using a cream colored pencil.

The panel at the bottom is made using chocolate brown cardstock. I stamped Hero Arts H5261 Flourish Trio using VersaMark watermark ink. Then I heat embossed it using Ranger verdigris embossing powder with my Heat It craft tool (heat gun).

The "thanks for being my friend" sentiment is from Hero Arts CL377 Be Happy. It was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with Ranger seafoam white embossing powder.

The butterfly is from Hero Arts CL383 Antique Engravings. It was stamped using Ranger Archival Ink, which is waterproof. Then it was colored by applying Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks with Tsukineko sponge daubers.

I used a Uni Ball Signo opaque white pen to add details, and then a Sakura Stardust clear glitter gel pen to add a bit of shine. The butterfly is adhered using foam squares for dimension.

Thanks for looking! :-)

The background is vellum that has been colored using Ranger alcohol inks ... I think Denim, Stream, and Sailboat Blue. Border punched and adhered to white card base with rounded corners.

The rest of the elements are made from 140# cold pressed watercolor paper. I stamped Hero Arts CG420 True Friends using VersaMark watermark ink and embossed with Ranger seafoam white embossing powder.

When it was cool, I placed the panel on top on my non-stick craft sheet. I applied Dusty Concord, Broken China, and Worn Lipstick Distress Stains directly to my craft sheet. Then I used a water color brush and water to apply the stains like watercolor paint and let it dry.

The two smaller hearts and the sentiment were punched. The larger heart was hand-cut. The bows are twine dyed with Stream and Watermelon alcohol inks and are attached with glue dots.

Close-up of my Layered Birthday Card. It is hard to see the Perfect Pearls, but there are a few hints of the gold in the upper left corner here.

Not for any challenge; just for fun.

The focal image is Hero Arts K5314 Silhouette Fern stamped using VersaMark watermark ink onto vellum. Then I heat embossed it with Ranger seafoam white embossing powder and my Heat It craft tool (heat gun).

I trimmed the piece of vellum and then used 3M Vellum Tape to adhere the vellum to a kraft mat. Then I wrapped the matte with ribbon and embroidery floss.

The card base is made from cream cardstock. I stamped a similar fern from Hero Arts CL395 Leaf Prints using ColorBox Moss Green pigment ink. Then I stamped the "so glad you're in my life" sentiment from Hero Arts CL417 Huge Hugs using VersaFine Vintage Sepia pigment ink.

The focal piece is adhered to the card base using foam squares for dimension. Top right corner rounded with a punch for visual interest.

Background is watercolor paper treated with Sugar Maple and Dragonfly Glimmer Mists. Leaf is manila file folder colored with Shabby Shutters, Dried Marigold, Spiced Marmalade, and Fired Brick Distress Inks. Inkadinkado 60-30254 Maple Leaf Mini stamped on top with VersaMark watermark ink, heat embossed in gold, and then cut out. Sentiment from Hero Arts CL371 Essential Messages. Jillibean Soup bakers twine in brown and white. Adhered to base made from BoBunny Double Dot paper. Edges of watercolor paper and base distressed with Tim Holtz/Tonic paper distresser. Watercolor paper edged with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

"Thank you" sentiment from Hero Arts CL142 Thank You Messages.

Thanks for looking! :-)

Background is 140# cold-pressed watercolor paper. I applied Broken China and Dusty Concord Distress Inks to this paper using a blending tool and foam. Then I used a mini-mister to spritz water droplets on top and immediately dried them with a heat tool.

Next, I applied Versamark watermark ink directly to the paper through an Artistcellar Stencil called Apparatus. Then I embossed the background with clear embossing powder - to create a resist from the holes in the stencil. Next, I applied Dusty Concord Distress Stain directly to the project - it fills up the areas where the stencil covered the background.

Sentiment from Hero Arts CL292 Celebrate All Day and stamped using a Tsukineko Memento Dew Drop in Grape Jelly. Used a Creative Memories corner rounder and adhered an American Crafts blue velvet ribbon. Purple gemstones from Dress It Up and Hero Arts.

Inspired by Two Peas' Stamping A to Z Event for the N is for... Notions, R is for... Ranger, and S is for... Spellbinders (Part 1) challenges.

The focal image is made from a #6 manila shipping tag. I placed my Ranger non-stick craft sheet on my work surface. Then I applied Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint, Picket Fence, Worn Lipstick, and Dusty Concord Distress Stains directly to the craft sheet. I dipped a manila shipping tag face down in the Distress Stains, wiggled it, turned it right side up, and immediately dried it with my Ranger Heat It craft tool (heat gun). Then I dipped a second manila shipping tag in the leftover Distress Stain, wiggled it, turned it right side up, and immediately dried it with my heat tool. The background for my focal image is from that second generation tag.

Next I misted the tag with water droplets using a mini-mister. I immediately dried the water using my heat tool. It gives me better water splotchy effects if I dry the water right away.

Then I stamped the reindeer from Hero Arts CL469 Swirl Christmas using Tsukineko VersaMark watermark ink (Hero Arts VC250) and heat embossed it with Zing Copper Glitter embossing powder. Next I die cut and dry embossed the focal piece using Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Small Rectangles. I die cut and dry embossed a matte from textured cardstock using Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Scalloped Small Rectangles.

The sentiment is also from Hero Arts CL469 Swirl Christmas. I stamped it using VersaMark watermark ink onto kraft cardstock and heat embossed it with Zing Copper Glitter embossing powder. I trimmed it, added ribbon and lace (notions), and adhered it to a cream card base.

I attached the focal image and matte using foam squares for dimension. Then I added a Hero Arts CH130 Citron Gemstone for the reindeer's eye, and added detail to the antlers using Ranger Stickles glitter glue in copper.

Stamped a flower from Hero Arts CL431 Watercolor Petals using VersaMark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Added Dress It Up crystal to flower center with Glossy Accents and added metallic elastic thread. Adhered to kraft cardstock base edged with Tea Dye Distress Ink.

The focal image is Ranger Gloss Paper onto which various colors of alcohol inks were dropped to make overlapping puddles. A flower and leaf from Hero Arts CG170 Wildflower Garden was stamped on top using Ranger Archival Ink in black. "Smile" sentiment from Hero Arts CL434 Just Find Me was stamped using Versamark watermark ink and then heat embossed with Ranger seafoam white embossing powder.

Focal image and matte were die cut and dry embossed using Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Eleven. Card base made from mulberry cardstock and dry embossed using Cuttlebug 37-1609 Birds and Swirls embossing folder. Finished with a green ribbon.

Part of my inspiration for this card was Jan's (Far North's) SOF11 Beautiful Leaves Challenge, and part of my inspiration was the Day 10 prompt in my friend Christy's (Gulfsprite's) 30 Days of Art Journaling class.

Created for the July Hero Arts Challenge.

Background is made using an 8.5" x 11" stencil from ArtistCellar.com called Venice and Dylusions Ink Sprays from Ranger. Leaf (CL457) and sentiment (CL146) from Hero Arts.

Thanks for looking! :-)

Distress ink background on clear embossed text frame and added some swirls in the corners.

The butterfly is colored with distress inks mixed with water and liquid pearl to give it an subtile shimmer. The butterfly is also stamped on vellum and only used the big wings and heated with the heattool to get a little bit of curling.

This close-up photo of my Autumn Harvest Card shows the effect of the copper and pearl Perfect Pearls better, although it is easier to see the copper than the pearl. Pearl is hard to photograph.

This is a close-up of a collaged maple leaf in my Mixed Media Leaves Card.

In this view you can see the effect of the water droplets and copper Perfect Pearls, as well as the Harlequin Pattern and other collage stamping, on the maple leaves.

This is a sample card for my WF12 Lonely Hearts Club Challenge during Winterfest at Two Peas in a Bucket.

The chipboard butterflies were gifted to me by Anna-Karin. (Thank you!) I used Stream and Cranberry Dimensional Pearls to paint them. Adhered to vellum using Glossy Accents.

The background is made by pouncing Lemonade, Peach Bellini, and Shell Pink alcohol inks onto vellum. Border is made from fadeless art board (a coated paper) using the same mix of alcohol inks. Punched using Fiskars Scalloped Sentiments border punch. The border is used to hide the adhesive which adheres the vellum to the card base.

Flourish stamp from Pollen Dust by Fancy Pants. Stamped using VersaMark watermark ink and heat embossed using Ranger orange sherbet embossing powder and Heat It craft tool (heat gun).

Background is made by spraying Sugar Maple Glimmer Mist onto Ranger non-stick craft sheet and dipping watercolor paper into it, then turning it right side up and drying it with a heat tool. Sentiment from Hero Arts CL218 Love That Sparkle Clear set and stamped using Tsukineko VersaFine Vintage Sepia pigment ink. Rick rack from Basic Grey. Mounted on kraft cardstock edged with Tea Dye Distress Ink. Focal piece is my original photo in a tag ring made using a Making Memories Tag Maker tool. Attached using foam for dimension.
