Boots Opticians unveiled a new store on Oakham High Street.
Specialising in children’s eye health, the store will has a resident
children’s eye care Orthoptist, a dedicated children’s waiting area,
and a large range of both adult and children’s frames to support the
needs of the local community in Oakham.
The new store was officially open at a ribbon-cutting event and
children’s party on Saturday 25 October 2014 local parents
and children were invited to come along and find out all about eye
health whilst enjoying games, story-telling and activities.
A specially designed waiting area for children including
engaging games and decorations.
With six in-store roles taken by local residents and over 200 sq m
of space, the store offers three consultation rooms, including a
dedicated Boots Hearingcare room where free clinics will run
once a week;
Boots said the opening of this store is particularly close to the
heart of the Managing Director of Boots Opticians, Ben Fletcher,
as he and his family currently live in Oakham and the store will be
where he takes his children for their regular eye checks. About the
opening, Ben said: “This store is particularly special to me and
I’m excited to be bringing Boots Opticians to a town and community
that has given so much to my family and I. Children’s eye health is

Boots Opticians unveiled a new store on Oakham High Street.
Specialising in children’s eye health, the store will has a resident
children’s eye care Orthoptist, a dedicated children’s waiting area,
and a large range of both adult and children’s frames to support the
needs of the local community in Oakham.
The new store was officially open at a ribbon-cutting event and
children’s party on Saturday 25 October 2014 local parents
and children were invited to come along and find out all about eye
health whilst enjoying games, story-telling and activities.
A specially designed waiting area for children including
engaging games and decorations.
With six in-store roles taken by local residents and over 200 sq m
of space, the store offers three consultation rooms, including a
dedicated Boots Hearingcare room where free clinics will run
once a week;
Boots said the opening of this store is particularly close to the
heart of the Managing Director of Boots Opticians, Ben Fletcher,
as he and his family currently live in Oakham and the store will be
where he takes his children for their regular eye checks. About the
opening, Ben said: “This store is particularly special to me and
I’m excited to be bringing Boots Opticians to a town and community
that has given so much to my family and I. Children’s eye health is
especially important to me and I’m proud that we’re opening this
specialist children’s Opticians practice in the heart of Oakham town,
helping to serve the needs of the local community – something which
Boots Opticians is committed to.”
The store stocks Boots Opticians brand Kyushu and designer
brands such as Ray Ban, Polo, Police and Givenchy.
