Permanently reducing hair growth has now become an easy task. There are plenty of methods of effectively removing bodily hair, such as shaving or waxing, IPL or laser is one of the few ways of destroying the hair follicles permanently so that the hairs do not grow again. I'm going to be a bit controversial in my description this week, so if you're a teenager you might want to vacate the area. As you may or may not know, I'm nineteen. That means, like a lot of people on Flickr, I'm a teenager too. I only have a few weeks until I turn 20 and I joked a few weeks ago via Twitter that I took my teenage years with a pinch of salt and apparently way too much humour. There is so much angst and worry from people in the age bracket 13-19 on here, and I have to say it bugs me. Don't say I don't understand the dynamics of the teenage years, because I got my fair share of shit at school; I was really different to 99.99% of the other girls, people thought I was weird, I had short hair and played football every weekend. Boys bullied me for that exact reason. Eventually people came round to wanting to be my friend, I was the same person, I just wasn't an outcast and I actually liked going to school. I had exactly the same problems at college, I used to play football, I waltzed into College not really giving a crap about what I was wearing (I wasn't aware it was a fashion parade), or what I did, talked about, etc. and then people spread rumours about the fact I might be gay (I also wasn't aware that future healthcare professionals were homophobic?). When I graduated college, I gained a "Peer Award", as voted for by my fellow students. Yes, the same ones who'd talked shit about me only a few months earlier.
When we were at school, people used to say to us all the time, "You better enjoy school because it's the best time of your life" and we were always like, "It better not be cos it's a bag of shit !" and then we left. And we all wanted to go back. Because it was, for me (and for a lot of my school friends who have said exactly the same thing), one of the best experiences we've ever had. Just enjoy having nothing to worry about, take too many pictures, laugh too much and love like you've never been hurt. Because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back. Anon
A moment, a love. A dream, aloud. A kiss, a cry. Our rights, our wrongs. So stay there, cos I'll be comin' over. And while our blood's still young; it's so young, it runs. Won't stop til it's over. Won't stop to surrender.
This is week nineteen in a year of self portraits.
My bride getting ready for the big day, and now 42 years later. I still don't believe just how fortunate i was. That wonderful May day. Miss Sherril Stonestreet and Mr. Wayne Hill soon to be a family of two, three, four, five, six and seven. Oh these wondrous years.
Bishop David Walkowiak celebrated the Mass of Christ the Healer (sometimes called the “White Mass”) on Sunday, Oct. 14 at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew in Grand Rapids. It is often celebrated on or near the feast of St. Luke (Oct. 18), physician and evangelist, and the patron saint of physicians and surgeons.
The annual Mass is an opportunity to thank and bless all those engaged in any aspect of health care; to honor and support those who carry on the work of Jesus Christ bringing health, hope and comfort to people in the diocese.
Video of the Mass is available to watch on the diocesan Facebook page (Diocese of Grand Rapids), click the "Videos" link.

March to Parliament and Candle-lit Vigil to Save the NHS - London 07.09.2011
Congregating on Westminster Bridge in the shadow of London's famous St. Thomas' teaching hospital, several hundred health workers and political activists protesting against the reviled Health and Social Care Bill (which was having its third reading in the House of Commons), set off towards Parliament through the busy rush-hour traffic towards Old College Yard where they joined a larger rally of trade unionists and Parliamentarian supporters. The crowd listened to several speeches by politicians, medical health professionals and trade unionists who unanimously called for people to keep on resisting the changes being implemented by the ConDem government which they firmly believe will be responsible for the planned death of the National Health Service by the Conservative Party, only to be replaced with the profiteering American health system model which sees greed and profit being put before humane care, and which has left 50 million Americans without access to healthcare.
As the night drew in and the speeches ended, a small-but-symbolic bonfire was made of placards carrying Prime Minister David Cameron's face.
