World Health Day LA 2014 took place at the Ramona Gardens housing project in East Los Angeles on April 5. Residents in the area enjoyed free health screenings administered by USC pharmacy students, haircuts and manicures provided by East Los Angeles Service Area, health and community informational booths, entertainment and other fun activities. The event was co-sponsored by the USC Institute for Global Health, USC Phi Delta Chi, Ramona Gardens Collaborative, City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks and Global Health Review.

On Thursday October 13, 2011, Northwest HealthCare had an Octoberfest to celebrate their new Medical Office Building and Emergency Room expansion.
Attendees toured the facility, met the staff, and got free health screenings including flu shots, glucose, blood pressure, lung function and more.
