Our goal is minimize hospital related IV infections and IV medication errors by designing a "Smart Pump" IV pump, channel and tubing system. The IV pump integrates technology, medical equipment, software and other components. The design helps to prevent infection by including a hand sanitizer, supply availability and safety alerts. The software and sensors help to prevent medication errors, by identifying drug-drug interactions and drug allergies.
