The Healer’s Cot Heiltrud lies sheltered from the wind, half sunken into the earth, and you step down a few steps to reach the entrance door. Small and cozy, the small cot offers space for a herbalist of the Middle Ages or in a medieval fantasy setting. The furniture includes a rustic fireplace, a cozy alcove bed (adult version also available), a work table, a richly decorated small shelf and seating in the form of chairs.

I have been urged not only by my doctor but by a wise flickr friend (Dani) to cut sugar from my diet, it took me long enough and it's only been 10 days but I truly can feel a difference and I truly am healing from the inside out, it's amazing. I will still have treats, I can't just live without them but they will be much more of a treat instead of part of my daily diet. Yeah, yeah, yeah all into these wraps, when I find something I like, I stick to it and just mix it up a little here or there.

Love the healing effect that the sea has on me. Love going to the coast when i'm stressed out because it cleans my mind of the daily life confusions. I always returned home focused and relaxed.

I'm continuing to upload bits and pieces, this one is a variant on a Photo24 shot previously uploaded. The previous version was cropped to a square format but on reflection this 'full frame' version captures more of the wild fisheye effect.
This was taken with a 10.5mm Nikon fisheye I'd hired for the weekend. I enjoyed using it so much I then ended up buying an 8mm Samyang fisheye lense.

From Wikipedia : "Heal’s has operated since 1818 in Tottenham Court Road, and from the present site since 1840. Its first purpose-built store, completed in 1854, was then one of the largest in London: the architect was James Morant Lockyer who presented the RIBA with a photographic elevation in May 1855. This is one of the earliest known professional applications of architectural photography in Britain.
The central part of the present building was commissioned by Ambrose Heal and designed by his cousin, and best friend, Cecil Brewer of the architectural practice Smith and Brewer. It was completed in 1917 and is a distinctive modern building, immediately hailed as a landmark in shop architecture, subsequently extended in a number of phases. An extension on the southern side of the building was added in 1938, designed by Sir Edward Maufe."

I spent a week at one of my favorite places last month with my favorite person/favorite doggies on the waters of Mullett Lake in Northern Michigan. The water is clear and cool and we're convinced it heals our souls and regenerates our bodies each year we visit.

My heart and my ankle, which I sprained the day before Fudge died, are slowly healing so I've started to go for walks again.
It seems strange not having a dog beside me and sometimes I still find myself going to get his lead before I set off.

Vahe "Vic" Grigoryan & Sevan Derohanian are the most gracious and accomodating men that i have met in quite some time! thier new coffee shop, "Natural Healing", is a must stop and say 'Hi", grab a cup of java, and shoot the breeze, destination on big bear mountain! you won't be disappointed, i took some pics of thier establishment, really with no professional set-up on my part, but i think you will get the warmth & peacefulness that these two men have created..thanks, dan.
