The Greater Flamingo Juveniles are performing the Mating Flamingo dance. The rituals can include a mixture of head and wing movements or a single act such as the head flagging, marching, the wing salute or the wing leg stretch. In the head flag movement, Flamingos turn their head from one side to another. I saw these two at the Florida Zoo.
Two Black Horses head to head at the Animal Festival in Rajasthan last year. Not the best focus, but I like the moment, edited in Lightroom.
I’m one of the least violent people you’ll ever meet, but I confess that the thing I wanted to see most during the bison rut was two dominant bulls going head-to-head in battle. So, when I was able to observe and photograph it, I was thrilled. We witnessed three of these skirmishes, this one at very close range, (from the relative safety or our rental car). And though we felt secure in the car, I became concerned about potential damage to the car itself.
This scuffle began about 30-40 yards from the side of the road. So I started shooting with the camera body that had the 100-400 mm lens attached. As the fight continued, it was clear that they were soon going to be too close for that lens. So I reached for the other camera body with the 24-105 mm lens. In my haste and excitement, I neglected to check settings, so slow shutter speed caused some motion blur. The last time I’d used that lens was for some landscape shots. So, some motion blur on this one but it turned out to be borderline acceptable.
More about the car. After this shot, I started thinking they were going to continue coming directly toward us. So I quickly started the SUV and moved forward about 50 feet. That was a good move. The two bulls did indeed continue their skirmish across the road and had I not moved, I would have been paying the rental car company $500 for the deductible on my insurance.

These two bulls are not exchanging pleasantries , they have scores to settle. Note the ripped muscles in the front quarters as they attempt to get the upper hand.

I never think that Friends theme can be good since I never like any of the official set, but that thought are instantly gone once I saw Kristel's work, specially her My Favourite Room build, and this one is definitely inspired by her build, specially the white flower wallpaper :)
