We have continuous rain in the week and rain is coming next week too in Vancouver.
We really need some colours brightening up the days.
PNE is one of the big summer events in Vancouver. It is the fun fair held in summer time.
This is just an old archive shot taken in 2010.

There are screams and there are excitements before the 2010 summer ends because PNE has come!
PNE Playland is the largest fun fair in Vancouver.
This year 2010 is the 100th anniversary of Pacific National Exhbition (PNE) fun fair.
The two ladies are very co-operative because they just come into the exact position to cover up the two garbage cans right at the bottom of the painted wall! :o)

While I took the long exposure of the Ferris Wheel and Orbiter, I was standing besides a ice cream stall. I saw a lot of ice cream and I heard a lot of "I scream" too!

Yesterday, Esther, Lau, Eli and I went to a park near our houses. We were taking a lot of photographs (now I've got photographs to upload for almost three years, lol). We had fun, laughed and jumped. Well, it was an amazing afternoon :)

We have a grand opening in the neighbourhood shopping mall in the weekend. He is the guest visitor to one of the fast food store.
Surprisingly he is very popular not only among the kids but also among the adults. Adult customers all want to have pictures with him and he is busy running around in the store.
Forget about multi-national capitalism. big box large corporation, consumerism ideology, junk food, exploitation of cheap labour etc. Everyone is happy!

She is working in PNE and see if the school will be open next week? Otherwise may be PNE fun fair will just extend into the school days?
The BC teachers strike is still going on and negotiation and bargaining has not ended yet until today. The school students might have to pay the price when the two parties cannot resolve the dispute about money!

This is repost of my candid shot taken at PNE in 2010 and this is one of the very few portraits having more than 30,000 views.
I intended to shoot the face painted child. But then I find the painter has interesting expression too.
It made an interesting contrast with the child waiting to be finished on painting.

I would like to make a note here and thank again on all the visits and comments by my Flickr contacts. Yesterday I hit another milestone on my Flickr stream. I had more than 1,300 views in one day the first time.
Before I joined Flickr, I would share my pictures with only a few friends. I would never imagine that one day I can share my pictures with a thousand people in a day!

This is the last week of spring break for schools in Vancouver.
The Lansdowne Carnival is up and running now. I did not shoot the night lights and colors this year.
I was in Lansdowne a week ago in the afternoon and I took a few shots of my favorite ducklings with my Fuji compact.
