Now at least there are
Seeds of splendor,
Becalmed belief for another time.”

Part of every Strathaven Balloon Festival is the Sky Divers tumbling out of a plane and hitting the target in the John Hastie Park. I've been reimagine lots of unused photos & some great fun with this. Using Silver Efex Pro part of the Nil Collection. I'm proud to call Strathaven my home town even on days like today when the wind is blowing & the rain is pouring down,

iMrs J Wilson and Miss Hastie winning the Ladies Double Sculls at the Pittwater Regatta in Sydney on December 31, 1921. My restoration and digital hand colorization of the original BW image in the Australian National Maritime Museum William Hall collection. The coxswain is not mentioned.
"This image appears in The Sydney Mail, 4 January 1922, page 18. The caption for the image includes the following details: 'The winners had a handicap of 15s, the distance being a mile. Mrs Hendrie and Miss Beaumont were second, and Mrs Allen and Miss K. Bolt (3s) third.'"

Constructed in 1937-38, the former United Kingdom Hotel is the design of architect James Hastie Wardrop. With its curved wings, deep rounded balconies, slim metal railings and central stepped fin, the two-storey brick building is a notable example of the Jazz Moderne style of architecture. Its almost intact interior and exterior led to it being heritage listed, and it is noted as being one of the most architecturally and historically significant buildings in Victoria

Tread lightly, cherish compassion and live in the moment without fear.”
Scott Hastie.
The flame skimmer or firecracker skimmer (Libellula saturata) is a common dragonfly of the family Libellulidae, native to western North America.
Male flame skimmers are known for their entirely red or dark orange body, this includes eyes, legs, and even wing veins. Females are usually a medium or darker brown with some thin, yellow markings. This particular type of skimmer varies in size but is generally measured somewhere between two and three inches long. These naiads are known for being rather large and chubby-looking due to their rounded abdomen. They are covered with hair but, unlike most young dragonflies, they lack hooks or spines.
