As you can probably see, one of the pictures are flipped. I won't tell which, but I don't mind that you can actually tell that they somewhat mirror each other.

It's an outtake from my lobby project which I didn't manage to do because of security issues.

Happy new year people! I hope everyone will find new inspiration and creativity in 2009. For me, I really hope I can find some answer to not only what I want with my photography, but indeed what to do with my life this year. Photography is a tempting, but difficult way to go. I will have to be ready for bumps on the road. To be honest I've always seen myself as a guy who likes to know how much, and in fact be sure that he actually gets paid next month. Maybe I'm too coward to do this..?

...behind the several black holes in my memory of this christmas. There are several rumours surrounding this drink, and what most people seem to be very particular about is that this is not REAL absinthe. The name absinthe derives from the herb Artemisia absinthium or Wormwood which is used along with several other herbs in the drink. Original Absinthe contained between 70-90% alcohol combined with high levels of thujone, which is a substance that comes from the Wormwood. The thujone molecule is rather alike that of THC, the active ingredient in Cannabis. This being said, I believe that it never has been proven that it has the same or even similar effect as THC. The thing about Absinthe is that although it contains enormous percentages of alcohol, it doesn't really taste as though it does. Which is why a lot of people believe that thujone is not really an active ingredient, and that merely the fact that an enormous amount of alcohol easily could be consumed rapidly because it tasted alright, and also that alot of people didn't realize how much alcohol they consumed when drinking it, caused all the rumours around it. In France it was introduced as a remedy for fever and other illnesses, but after an eruption of so-called absinthism (i.e. a lot of people got addicted to it) Absinthe was banned from France and a lot of other countries in Europe. I might be wrong about this is, but I believe it is so that the original distilleries were shut down because of the ban, and that the original recipes were no longer being made. The ban still applies within the EU, which means that Absinthe after the original recipes, in fact, does not exist. However, the distilleries have since changed their recipes to make them fit the demands from the EU, meaning that in a sense this 'Absenthe' is closer to the real deal than phoney 80% Absinthe made somewhere far away from where it originated.
