This harvest abstract is based on a photo that I captured of an autumn grapevine in Castle Combe, UK. It was a glorious sunny day which presented a challenge to my camera. I took my photo which was very contrasty with blown out highlights to Deep Dream Generator and Topaz Studio to render a distillation of what I saw in my mind's eye.

As Thanksgiving approaches, it will be a troubled harvest this year. We can still celebrate all that is good and there is much, even though the pandemic grows and the mad king rages - may we all travel through this time of travail with kindness and faith that all will ultimately be well.

Harvesting Corn can get dusty! These farmers are outrunning which looks like a distant storm moving in.
(Micromys minutus) Even shrivelled old blackberries are appealing food to tiny mice! Last one for now.....

Sun setting behind a half harvested corn field just outside of the campground at Split Rock Creek State Park near Pipestone, Minnesota.
On my recent trip to Provence, we were lucky to see how they harvest the lavender. In this image you can see only the tops are cut, leaving the main part of the plant to grow next years harvest.
Also getting to this location at sunrise allowed us to photograph showing cut and uncut, since by mid-day the entire field was cut.

Rice cultivation is the main livelihood in Bali. Wayan, a young Balinese man proudly presents the harvest on the road in front of a village temple. Many hands have harvested the rice and now it will be picked up for further processing.

Pictured here is an early morning view of a farm in Carthage, shortly after the yearly corn crop had been harvested. Wish I would've been there to capture the rows of corn in the shot, but it was already late in the season when we arrived. Either way, it was a still a beautiful morning, and I couldn't have asked for more from the early morning sky.
