The approaching clouds seen here are about to engulf Harter Fell. Just five minutes earlier this hill was totally clear of cloud and in another five minutes it had disappeared from view. Needless to say the cloud later engulfed the summit of Coniston Old Man.
This building which houses a range of exotic plants within the City Park in Launceston, Tasmania, was built in 1932. The architect T.F. Rowland modelled it on a similar one in the Fitzroy Gardens in Melbourne. It has Art Deco and Spanish Mission features.
You can see that some major structural cracks are appearing and will need to be repaired soon.
Here are some other views of this building. www.facebook.com/pages/John-Hart-Conservatory/56335017048...

On the evening of the 6th of August 1888, Martha Tabram & her friend Mary Ann Connelly went out to various pubs drinking, & at some point they met up with two soldiers, where they all went for more drinks at pubs.
Shortly before midnight, the couples split. Mary Ann Connelly (also known as Pearly Poll), went with one man into Angel Alley.
Martha Tabram went into George Yard (which is this arched entrance next to the pub), with the other man.
Martha was found viciously murdered in a building called George Yard Buildings several hours later.
She is a possible early victim of Jack The Ripper. I think she may probably was.
Ripper suspect George Chapman also worked as a barber in the basement of The White Hart.
Today, George Yard is known as Gunthorpe Street.

Harts Mill (Port Adelaide) - a retake on an earlier image.
Harts Island has a long and tragic association with death. It was a POW camp during the Civil War. It held a Nike missile there, with the controls at Fort Slocum. which is slightly north and within visual range of Hart Island. At one time, it was inhabited with a town. It was a rehab center for Phoenix House. It is now and has been Potters Field for unclaimed bodies in NYC. (Somehow, it seems macabre to have recovering addicts living next to a graveyard.) The graves are dug by prisoners from Rikers Island, which is nearby. I've seen the ferry that brings them there in the morning. It is now completely off limits and these pictures were taken from a boat with a zoom lens.
He may wear nerdarrific glasses, but Hart has a sly sense of humor and mad skills. I suppose because he scripts, he decides a paper clip in his glasses suit, but no man who makes skins like Kim and Grace could ever be a nerd - not in the traditional sense.

Lake Hart is usually a dry salt lake, but it had a little water in it today. Taken on our way home from Bulgunnia Station just before sunset. Lake Hart is between Pimba and Glendambo in the north of South Australia. It was threatening to rain again.

Photographed with a Kodak Z1015 which I kept for about 6 days. I sold my old Canon S3 point and shoot (I love that camera) to upgrade to a good small superzoom with video to carry with me all the time. The Kodak has great colors, great video, but one must wait about 4-10 seconds between shots...even with a workaround (Not nearly fast enough for Gracie nor Other wildlife). I just recently purchased the Panasonic DMC-FZ28 and that is SWEEET. Post some of those shots soon.
