Jan 25: Visited the paired sims of City of Harrison and Prototype, where I found a couple of additions to my Lonely Streets collection and Derry got into trouble driving a tuk-tuk.

Descending a 2.2 percent mountain grade into Jefferson River Valley and the junction with Montana Rail Link’s Sixth Subdivision at Sappington, Montana, is the 844 local on June 16, 2014. The short four-car train is returning from a trip up the Harrison branch and is heading west back to Logan.
The Harrison County courthouse in Cadiz, Ohio was completed in 1895. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Harrison Stickle, one of the stand out peaks in the Langdale mountain range and home to the lovely Stickle tarn. This photo was taken on a bright, clear, winters day in February 2018. It appeared the last remnants of winter were melting away but this was just the calm before the storm as the following day the UK was hit by the ‘Beast from the East’ and Winter returned full force.
As always thanks for your comments and Faves.
The MRL's Harrison local returns down the hill to Sappington Jct passing through a pastoral farmland scene typical of the state of Montana.

Ronny and I heard about an old McDonald's location in Harrison, Ohio that hadn't been renovated in decades, so we paid a visit. When we arrived, we learned that the restaurant opened in 1980 and would be closing in just 9 days to be demolished.

A visit made to the Esso Petroleum Co. Ltd.'s bitumen terminal at Harrison's Wharf at Purfleet on 18th January 1985 found Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0 diesel-hydraulic (Works No.D1373 built in 1965) inactive and waiting for its next delivery of wagons from B.R. for loading. The locomotive previously had worked for the Mersey Docks & Harbour Board on behalf of Esso's sidings at Dingle Wharf in Liverpool, locomotive No.45 in its fleet, and in 2025 was to be found in the care of the Middleton Railway in Leeds.

Like the Bald Eagles there are Trumpeter Swans in the Harrison Mills area. Some areas you will see large flocks of them, on this morning there was less than 10 in several small groups.
I loved the way the evening sunlight defined the trees on the ridge as semi-silhouettes, particularly that one in the middle, 610 m away: a black skeleton with a halo of vibrant green.
The severity of the background helped. That's the Langdale Pikes, of course: Pavey Ark on the right, 7.3 km away, leading left to the distinctive profile of Harrison Stickle (736 m), then Thorn Crag (641 m) and Loft Crag (682 m) (the latter hiding Pike of Stickle) beyond Dungeon Ghyll.

When we arrived, we learned that the restaurant opened in 1980 and would be closing in just 9 days to be demolished. (There just happened to be an abandoned Taco Bell next door.)
