Just the still melancholy that I love —
that makes life and nature harmonize.
The birds are consulting about their migrations,
the trees are putting on the hectic or the pallid hues of decay
and begin to strew the ground,
that one’s very footsteps may not disturb the repose of earth and air,
while they give us a scent that is a pefect anodyne to the restless spirit.
Delicious autumn!
My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth
seeking the successive autumns.

On the way to Ljubljana this old bridge in the canyon of Savinja river was one of the really lovely sights. The calm water reflecting the colours of the riverbank made the environment of the robust structure truly harmonizing.

The foundation stone was laid in 1874 and completed in 1883. The architect responsible for its Greek Revival style was Theophil Hansen. He designed the building holistically, aiming to harmonize each element with all the others. He was also responsible for the interior decoration, such as statues, paintings, furniture, chandeliers, and numerous other elements. Hansen was honored by Emperor Franz Joseph with the title of Freiherr (Baron) after its completion. Following heavy damage and destruction in World War II, most of the interior has been restored to its original splendor.

The 1116.199 currently commemorates the 60th anniversary of the model railway manufacturer Roco. On August 8, 2020 I was able to take a picture of the attractively designed Taurus in front of the NJ 421 from Düsseldorf to Innsbruck main station near Niederaudorf in the Inn valley. The locomotive and the wagon set harmonized well in terms of color.

The Pyramids of Hunger are structures designed by the Russian engineer Alexander Golod. They refer to the so-called "energy pyramids", which in occultism are considered transformers or accumulators of some unknown science of "bioenergy".
In the CIS, a lot of pyramidal constructions of the Hunger construction were built, the most famous of which was the pyramid, destroyed by the hurricane on May 29, 2017, built on the 38th kilometer of Novorizhskoe highway. The Pyramids of Hunger caused a wide public response in connection with the speculative pseudo-scientific statements of the author that the form of the pyramids proposed by him allegedly "harmonizes the structure of the surrounding space", bringing it in line with the ideal proportion of the golden section and thus correcting defects caused by unreasonable activities as a community of people. and nature itself.
There is no information on any positive changes in the environment and society on the territories adjacent to the Famine pyramids. According to the conclusion of Academician Eduard Kruglyakov, Chairman of the Commission on Combating Pseudoscience of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the magical properties of the pyramids, declared by the Hunger and other construction workers, have no scientific basis.

Bray, a charming coastal town in Ireland, boasts a picturesque pier that is characterized by its striking geometric design. The angular shape of the pier perfectly harmonizes with the tranquil seascape, evoking a sense of nostalgia and serenity. However, this idyllic scene is juxtaposed against the backdrop of a dramatic sky, which imbues the setting with a touch of unease, creating a captivating blend of beauty and mystery
… based on the twelve major and minor notes in an octave in Western music as well as accompanying harmonic chords. But Beethoven would remind her about the power of dissonance–dissonance based on the Western music scale that is. How could the crazy complexities of the world's different music systems, tones, pitches, and rhythms–some quite ancient–possibly be harmonized?
If the world could sing in harmony it was only because the Western music system had spread in the modern world to just about everywhere.
She began to sing in a pop- jingle genre, “I’d like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony. I'd like to hold it in my arms and keep it company.”
The sentiment might have been born of naïveté but it was also brought forth from love.

It was a little bit dark early morning. Everything was delightfully peaceful in my eyes. That moment wasn't so dramatic, colorful and not black & white. It was a quiet, simple, monotone and peaceful nature. Mountain, water, sky and small village are well harmonized. I hope all have a healing moment with this photo.

This bridge connects the Palace of Generalitat -on the left in the image- with the Canonges Houses, residence of the president of Generalitat de Catalunya -on the right-, and was built in neo-Gothic style to harmonize with the context, by Joan Rubió i Bellver in 1928, in the remodeling plan for the Gothic Quarter projected on the occasion of the 1929 Universal Exposition in Barcelona.

Somehow I'm not finished with my Iceland series. I am still drawing on my stay in this wonderful country. This photo is one of my favorite pictures I took there.
The exposed location of the house, the colors that harmonize with the sky, the lonely yet inviting scenery, the snow on the mountains that is reflected in the windows, the landscape, the individual and the car that is parked there alone ,,, This scene fascinated me.

Housing in the Faroe Islands offers a mix of options, including houses, apartments, and rooms for rent or purchase. The housing market is primarily private, with prices varying based on location and condition. There are also initiatives like Bústaðir, the Faroese Housing Association, which provides low-interest loans for energy-saving home conversions and aims to create new rental apartments. For students, some schools offer rented rooms in "school homes" with shared facilities.
The housing landscape reflects the Faroe Islands' transition from scattered settlements to more urbanized areas
The iconic red grass-roofed houses of the Faroe Islands are a striking blend of tradition and practicality. These turf-roofed homes are a hallmark of Faroese architecture, deeply rooted in the islands' history and environment.
Why Grass Roofs?
Grass roofs have been used in the Faroe Islands for over a thousand years. They provide excellent insulation, keeping homes warm during the harsh winters and cool in the summer. The thick layer of turf also protects against the islands' frequent heavy rainfall and strong winds. This natural roofing material is both eco-friendly and sustainable, blending seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.
The Red Walls
The vibrant red walls of these houses are often painted with a traditional red ochre pigment, which contrasts beautifully with the lush green of the grass roofs. This color choice is not just aesthetic; it also reflects a cultural preference for bright, cheerful hues in the often overcast and misty Faroese weather.
Where to Find Them
You can spot these charming houses in various villages across the Faroe Islands. Notable locations include:
1.Tórshavn: The capital city, where you’ll find traditional turf-roofed buildings like the Prime Minister’s office in Tinganes.
2.Gásadalur: A picturesque village known for its grass-roofed cabins near the famous Múlafossur Waterfall.
3.Bøur: A quaint settlement with many sod-roofed homes offering stunning views of the sea and nearby islets.
These houses are not just relics of the past; they continue to be built and maintained, preserving a unique architectural tradition that harmonizes with the Faroese way of life.
White houses, cobbled streets, beautiful squares and many many churches. This is the town of Folegandros, built on a cliff 210 meters above sea level. Perhaps one of the best balconies in the Aegean Sea. In this Chora of Cyclades, the medieval and the Cycladic element harmonize perfectly in a pervasive romantic atmosphere. What impresses is the Castle, which is not the famous medieval fortress but a defensive formation houses. Folegandros, tourism development was respecting the tradition and the Chora is considered the best preserved of Cyclades.

Everytime the rewind event comes around, the name reminds me of one of my favorite songs by Nas. I've been an avid fan of his since the 90's, but this particular song was especially masterful to me because of the way in which the lyrics were delivered. The entire story he's spinning from the first bar is a backwards telling of the events described, Rewind. From the way he rapped it, to the beat chosen, it harmonizes with that vision. When I saw the table and chair set by Cubic Cherry, of a cassette tape being rewound I was like yasss, and couldn't get this song out of my mind lol. I hope you all enjoy. ♥

Made my annual pilgrimage to see the Northern Metalmarks in the Maryland mountains.
This small and seemingly unremarkable butterfly is classified as threatened and rare with a state ranking of S2 and declining.
A strict habitat and host plant specialist, the Northern Metalmark flies in the unforgiving shale barrens and limestone outcrops where one would normally not look for a butterfly.
Finding a Metalmark is like finding a gemstone amid the crumbling rubble of the shale slopes. The beauty of this diminutive butterfly is hidden in the details of its delicate metallic bands that sparkle in the sun and look especially gorgeous when viewed thru good binoculars. This butterfly has beautiful emerald colored eyes that stand out against the chocolate brown open wings and harmonize perfectly with the bright orange on the underside of its wings. (see next two shots)
This butterfly has a very short life of only about two weeks. Adults love to nectar on yellow composites, especially the Woodland Sunflower (Helianthus divaricatus) that grows on shale barrens and blooms precisely during the short adult life of this precious butterfly.
The larval host plant is the Roundleaf Ragwort (Packera obovata). Females lay their eggs on the underside of the leaves. The caterpillars hatch in August and begin to feed on the leaves. Half-grown they burrow into the soil around the leaf rosette where they sleep until spring. When they emerge next June they crawl back to the host plant and begin to feed again. By month's end they form a chrysalis on the soil around the ragwort. Winged adults emerge in late June and begin to adorn their nectar plants as in this photo.
This is the only Metalmark (Riodinidae) species in Maryland.
