So, I didn't have in my plan to make a Harlem Hellfighter.

The USA didn't have a major role in WW1 in my opinion and their uniform were basically the same as the British, that's why I won't make any American soldier.

Way more interesting were the HH, they were a platoon of Afro-Americans that joined the war already in 1914.

They received gear and equipment from the Allies.

The USA would have joined the war only in 1917 when a German U-boat sinked two American boat, the Lusitania and the Arabic.

For this fig I used my British uniform with an Adrian helmet.

Tell me what you think :)

Harlem Valley State Hospital, which eventually became known as Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center, was established in 1924. It closed in the mid-90s. This is the morgue in the old hospital building at the Northeast side of the campus.

excursion to Harlem - a city full of life

An Oak Point-bound loaded rail train slowly creeps south along the Oak Point Link skirting the east shore of the Harlem River. The heavy loaded train is destined for the Long Island Railroad for Track renewal projects. The pair of ex-Cons on the head end are approaching the Madison Avenue Bridge with two Oak Point Yard engines in tow and the rest of the train stretched out beyond the 145th Street Bridge.

The Harlem & El Barrio Photo Tour is one of many suggested tours that I offer and it is probably my most popular tour. Harlem and El Barrio or East Harlem are fabulous neighborhoods and the people are very friendly. We always have fun on the streets shooting, talking about techniques and about this fabulous city. You can find more information or contact me to reserve a tour at this link
