This is why the machine's in the closet :( There's *something* wrong with the logic board. Don't know what. Sometimes it refuses to boot, sometimes I get The Stripes, and when it does boot, it'll just die to black screen after a while.
Note that I've removed the internal frame here too, I'm down to just the motherboard now. The iBook server booklet guy cut the frame in half instead, but I didn't want to break anything, in case I fixed the machine and felt like making it a normal iBook again.

Woo, it's booting! I read the instructions coreyarnold.org/ibook/, which said to press hard down on this one chip. It seemingly worked! The machine died after a while after releasing the chip, though.
I haven't figured out yet if it really is that chip, or something else that got stressed into position from me pressing at that point.
Here you will find some experiments in our lab working on a new device. Everything is made from scratch.
