Outdoor temperatures are sometimes reaching +50 (+10C), so it's time to get all the garden starts used to the brilliance of actual sunshine, rather than artificial lighting.
Row nearest is mostly geraniums, with occasional houseplants that will eventually move outdoors in summer.
The far row is the flowers seedlings started within the last month or so, with only a few veggies to grow produce.
I confess most of what I grow is flowers. Gardening would be much simpler, but much less enjoyable, if it was all for the table....

A volcanic plug, also called a volcanic neck or lava neck, is a volcanic object created when magma hardens within a vent on an active volcano. When present, a plug can cause an extreme build-up of pressure if rising volatile-charged magma is trapped beneath it, and this can sometimes lead to an explosive eruption. Glacial erosion can lead to exposure of the plug on one side, while a long slope of material remains on the opposite side. Such landforms are called crag and tail. If a plug is preserved, erosion may remove the surrounding rock while the erosion-resistant plug remains, producing a distinctive upstanding landform.

There's something in this that I just want to tweak a little bit but I'm not sure what it is, something's just feels slightly off Fixed it.
I was just going to do something super simple but decided that my face was being boring so I picked up this rock. I feel this was most likely in my head.

Thought to have been built in 1796, Surrounded by pine trees on the top of a steep bank. Lit with the BLS.
NR26 leads NR85 and NR73 through Harden with an early morning SteelLink service from Sydney (1SX2 I believe, but that's going on shaky memory). The train was long, and well loaded with all sorts of different steel products!
If some of these photos look familiar, they probably are - I'm organising my photos from 2008, and taking the opportunity to rework some of them and either upload for the first time, or replace older photos.
In the case of this photo, the original was a b/w also, but I went back and had a play with the contrast to increase the effect - the lack of lighting on the nose of the loco, as well as on the visible sides of the signal box was the catalyst for the black and white initially.

I would call this more of an assemblage than a build since the head is just placed onto the body. Still, I think it looks close enough to a Doozer.
Test shot at 30 sec using big stopper to discover why the D7100 was producing green and magenta bands on long exposures, turns out it is very sensitive to light entering the eyepiece. problem solved. Idiot behind camera problem.
Yesterday, freshly emerged tenerals of Blue Corporals (Ladona deplanata) were seen throughout the Refuge. Not yet conspicuous, they will be after they harden in the sun for a couple of days. A week or two and this dragonfly will be the most abundant springtime dragonfly on the Refuge.

The Lyceum Theatre in Harden dates from around 1920 - 21 and replaced an open air movie theatre. It closed in May 1973 although the building has seen some use since then as retail space.
A short journey up harden back, through Goitstock woods, which culminates in this magnificent waterfall.
